Annoying persistant "notification" sound

For the past few hours, my nexus 4 keeps making some weird notifications sounds. The sound only stops when the screen is off, or the volume is mute/vibrate. Otherwise, the sound would be repetitive, like it would overlap. Its like a 2 tones sound. There's no notifications there and the sound keeps going. I tried restarting my phone but the sound is still present.The sound just won't stop when i open the screen and it's really getting on my nerve. Does anyone can help me, please?

Turn NFC off to see if it goes away.

Something in the vicinity is NFC enabled and the phone is attempting to communicate with it.

Thank you Sir. This noise really annoyed me, and I never realised it was the NFC.
