Annoying safety feature with audio and plugging in headphones

I use the line-in jack in my car's stereo to play my MP3's from my phone as I did with my EVO. I also use Pandora, TuneIn, etc.

One annoying thing I noticed today is that when I plug the line-in cable into the headphone jack, the volume is automatically lowered about 25% before playback. The visual volume slider also appears on the screen momentarily.

I suspect this is a safety feature Samsung introduced into the phone. For me, it's quite irritating as I have to turn the volume up to maximum every time after I plug-in. Otherwise, the volume is not loud enough on the stereo. Yes, I could just turn up the stereo's volume, but that seems silly. If I switch to radio, then the radio stations will be blasting out of the speakers.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable this function? I think when I owned an iPhone 3 (eek!) back in the day, it had separate volume levels for the speaker, headphones, etc.

It's going to be a few days yet before I get mine so I don't know if you can disable it. If you have Tasker you could set it up to go to a certain volume when you plug in headphones/line to your stereo.

Never noticed that with my headphones but when I turn the volume up with headphones in it gives me an annoying little message that says volume this high can hurt your ears. its very aggravating. I am not stupid you don't have to warn me everytime I turn my volume up.

Take a look at volume control+ in the play store. The free version allows you to change the various volumes (headphone, bluetooth, etc) independently.

I'm already using Volume+ to boost the speaker audio. I find it to be to quiet when playing back videos.

The headphone function lets you adjust the EQ, go past the maximum volume, etc.

It doesn't have a feature like "set volume to max" which is what I was hoping for.
