New glitch 🫤 - Voice Dictation Duplicated after text sent
...
I have been using Textra as my SMS app for years. As time goes on, I've relied on Voice to Text for dictating my most messages. Google Voice has been pretty inconsistent and downright awful at times (easily triggered Time Outs, lack of punctuation being recognized), but has gotten better in the last few months.

The new problem is it's inserting part or all of the last text I dictated into the texting field on my next message, repeating what I just said. Anyone else having this problem? I checked Textra and their last Update was in August, so seems the glitch is Googles (since my October 5th Update). Anyone else having this problem?

I've encountered this from time to time. It's very sporadic and hard to duplicate, but sometimes after I voice dictate a message and say "send" I'll look at my phone and the message sent but in the text field is the same exact message ... like I never sent it. (Or sometimes it actually doubles up what I said and hopefully I catch it before I hit or say send.)

That's kinda what it's doing. It hasn't been doing it long enough, and I don't text often enough to totally nail it down, but like with you, it doesn't seem to happen every time, and it doesn't duplicate all the text. But it's a totally new glitch and figure it came along with Google's last update, and someone might know a fix. I'm guessing they integrated their AI Assistant into the old Google Voice Dictation app. I do notice the microphone stays active after I've sent a message I've just dictated, like it's waiting for me to dictate a follow up message. Sometimes that's handy, but I do have to be careful I don't mumble something I don't want to send, or have the radio on loud in the background as it will pick up anything said.

I googled the problem and the AI answer was to clear the cache for Textra. We'll see if that helps. I also looked into Google Assistant "learning" from my Microsoft Swiftkey usage as a possible culprit.

So you're using Swiftkey? I'm using Gboard and always assumed it was a Gboard glitch/issue ... If you're using a different keyboard then that shoots out that theory, obviously.

I think it's a Google Voice glitch. The thing has been a buggy POS since I first started using it with my Pixel 6P.
It was timing out all the time, now it stays on too long and does other crap like this. I don't think Alphabet gives a you-know-what.

Yeah, it's definitely an annoying one. Wish I could figure out what triggers it
