Mod note: Moved to Moto X 2014 forum.

To the OP, thanks for sharing. Hopefully that rolls out soon.

Better late than never (but almost just as embarrassing), AT&T is now officially ready to push out Android 5.0.2 to the Motorola Moto X (2nd Gen) nearly 4 months after it became available on the stock “Pure Edition.”

Except that the Pure edition still doesn't have 5.0.2.

Yeah. I don't understand why. I think my 2012 Nexus 7 even has 5.0.2. 5.0 works fine for me but it is still weird.

Weird... maybe... if I was Motorola, and Google was releasing a few new versions even after I was releasing 5.0 on the Pure Edition I might want to test this on one device before finalizing a release on other devices. Motorola hasn't even released any 5.0 version to the Droid Turbo on VZW. And besides AT&T waited so long to release it for their device... maybe Motorola worked up the 5.0.2 version for their release first... after all they did start a soak test as well as releasing it to everybody.

I'm sure other devices will see this 5.0.2 version shortly if this test with the AT&T version goes well... including the Pure Edition and Droid Turbo.

Personally, 5.0 works just fine on my Pure Edition. And I just downloaded the 5.0.2 version on my AT&T Moto X (2014) the night they released it to AT&T... I have not tested that device yet, but will shortly... maybe this weekend.

I am pretty sure the Pure Edition will get it soon. Only real problem I have (which could not be related) is when I am listening to music on my Bluetooth headphones and someone calls the audio is played through the front speaker for a moment. Kinda awkward when this glitch happens in public. :D

Over at Moto's site a Moto employee explained that there is line up so to speak and Moto works with Google gives them and starts the update process with (I am assuming here as Moto did not specifically say) the Pure Edition and moves on from there.

If in the interim Google were to release a revision, Moto would not start over and update the Pure, they would update whatever is next in line and after completing the update for the device lineup, they would rotate back to first and update it to whatever is the most up to date version of Android.
