Got the OTA update this morning on my wife's Eris (Hawaii). Got rid of the severe lag on her phone to any touchscreen command or menu selection.

Glad to hear it kills lag. I was on vacation this past week and was tempted to throw my phone in the ocean numerous times

got my update in mississippi this morning. so far so good. hope it fixed the silent call bug, we shall see.

Eris 2.1 Silent Call issue has been resolved with an OTA Maintenence Release (4) ... so far - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community

points to google file as being the latest OTA file.

Got my update Sunday morning. Haven't had a chance to really notice any difference yet - battery seemed to go a little faster, though, but that could just be incidental. Nice to know they haven't forgotten us!

Got the update last night around 12:30. I believe it's already been brought up. But I still have the 50% signal issue, phone seems a bit more responsive, still have some lag with the screen coming on when I move it away from my face after a phone call. other then that seems to be running well.

did it as I was driving took like 10 min. all is well phone seems a bit quicker
need some time to play around and see
hope the silent call bug is gone.....

also hope we can still root it with the new method......

I just received my notice of the update. I had never heard of this since I had my 2.1 update. I have to say I know the Eris is not the newest phone but I have not had any problems with it. Any issues I have had have all seemed to stem from the applications not the hardware.

I received the update on Sunday. The phone has been a bit more responsive since then. I didn't have any of the issues that were the reason for the patch so I cannot comment on those fixes.

haven't heard anything, but they're testing all kinds of android crap. BTW, i don't miss CB at all. went back the other day, someone emailed me and wanted my input on a topic. just reminded me why i left that hole in the first place.

as always, when i hear something i share it, but i haven't heard anything specific as of late so no news to share at this time. and i got that email as well, waiting for the alert to download it myself.

I can't believe all of the pissing and moaning going on over there about how RIM is so far behind. Im glad I made the jump. Android is where its at now!

This was one of the issues that drove me to root my phone. Sadly, some of the root ROMs have this problem as well. It's usually fine when you open a second time.

I suggest trying out a replacement browser - Dolphin or xScope are both excellent.

I had not experienced this problem until last night, when it started happening quite a lot. Then this morning I got the OTA update. I don't know if the update addresses that specific issue or not, but I was having that problem before the OTA update.

Well I'm getting my 4th Eris. Lets see if a another Eris will fix the software issues?
