another weird issue I have not seen elsewhere

I am getting an error message that says that "The application Google Services Framework (process.com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again and offers a FC. What is this What does it mean? Can I fix it?

I assume your rooted? If so go to rom manager and download gapps (google apps) again. I had an issue like that when flashing cm7. It worked for me. Let us know any more info. Good luck.

thanks for your reply -yes I am rooted, can you give me a bit more detail as to how I get to rom manager and the name of the app I need to download. Are you talking about flashing? App market? I'm kinda new to this... Thanks again.

No problem. Rom manager is on the market. Its free i believe and they have paid version. Once you download it you can go into rom manager and select download rom. Scroll down and look for google apps. Which rom are you using?

I am using scrambled eggsv7 from epicurean. not perfect, but not bad either. What I did was I went into root explorer and reinstalled Google Services Framework from the apps file.. Do you think that will do the trick?

It may actually. Give it a try. Did this happen right after you flashed the rom?

I looked at ROM manager and it is for i9000 series phones, not the Epic 4g . I am not sure that is the way to go...

Thats right i was actually looking at that just now. It may be a single app causing the issue. Did it occur right after you flashed rom? Was it woking before?

yes, things were working before. I have deleted a bunch of recent apps and reinstalled it again. What does google services framework actually control?

The ROM that he is running most likely isn't on the list for ROM Manager for the Epic 4g.

The framework FC he is receiving could be linked to any one of Google's apps. Uninstalling all Google apps and reinstalling them is one option but sort of a pain in the butt too and no promise it will fix it....

Ted give those suggestions I mentioned a go and see what happens. Sometimes when you get a bad enough FC it doesn't matter what you do to resolve them problem and the only option is to re flash the ROM. Do this as a last step.

For the benefit of all, I reflashed the ScrambledEggs ROM on my phone this morning. It is afternoon now and I have finally put the finishing touched on being set up. Issues: Scrabble Free and Weight Watchers for Android are two apps my phone just cannot tolerate, they FC and freeze the phone often. I have had multiple notices that some installs were corrupt and needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled. I did this without complaint (no auditory anyway). I had to install a stock mail client, twice because it crashed once.

However, for all of that, I have a pretty fast, solid phone. Hopefully it will stay that way till the official GB release (famous last words - hah!).

Who else has installed custom ROMs that are solid and stable. Who knows, I may need to move to something else in a few days :'(

I use cm7. I know it's the most popular but I like it tons. Stable and have not had any issues. 7.1 which is gingerbread 2.3.4.
