It there any danger in removing the Stock SMS Messenger from my Optimus V?

I started using GoSMS Pro and wondered if I should remove the Stock SMS to get more room.

I sometimes have difficulty downloading mms with gosms. Trying in stock works always.
You could Nandroid and try it. If it doesn't work you could always restore

Honestly, I wouldn't mess with anything that messes with the default SMS/MMS client. Especially since it is specific to your phone.
