Hah, when I tested out the Droid X i had no antenna issues. I think Apple is the snitch in the gang that the police question so he doesn't get the full punishment

On the video the one thing I noticed is that while the signal bars did go down the phone never dropped the call.

Apple is trying to throw the entire industry under the bus, so far no one is biting. Everyone is focusing on why apple's phone doens't make calls and ignoring their poor sad little attempts to smear other phones.

Besides, I've yet to see one of their videos/links that show a phone being held in a natural manner needed to make a call. I can't hold the iPhone to my ear in my left hand without the signal dropping. So far I've been unable to duplicate what apple has shown.

I just recently learned that the bars on the X only represent the 3g data signal. So this vid only chokes off the data, not call signal.

As far as I know anyways for the Droid X and the EVO the antennas are located at the top of the phone so this should've been possible :-/

After multiple attempts, under no circumstances can I recreate this effect. When Consumer Reports can't recommend the Droid X (or any of the other phones that Apple has tried to deflect attention to), Apple can talk to me. Until then, epic fail by Apple and based on my personal experience with both devices, Droid X >>>> iPhone4

Just seen this video of the deathgrip and tried it on my Droid X and couldn't get it to fall off..

But the guys over at DroidLife made a video in a low signal area and the X never fell off actually gained a bar..

I read that the X has a diversified antenna at the top in the hump. That means if the main antenna loses a signal another antenna will take over.

As for Jobs. I do not believe his BS propaganda will result in increased sales for his iphones, and his iphone (aka Apple) Zombies could care less if their signals are dropped or not. They will follow and purchase anything that Jobs has created. I'm sure if he manufactured iVibrator, the Zombies would be happily vibrating.

My Droid X does it too, most smart phones do do to a degree because idiot designers like putting antennas near where we grip phones (the bottom). Some are just worse than others. This video was made to prove that point and it did so, it was not out to bash Android phones, Motorola or Droid X. It was to prove that this is not a unique issue.

I get it, Apple bashing is fashionable but come on.

I have to say this seems like another apple baby move, apple is floundering with a bad device so there Trying to deflect the heat. Android has pile of great devices because they had the forsite to build a great os and put it on more then one phone. Bottom Line is Two great phone companies worked with two great phone builders and designed two juggernaut phones called the Droid x and the Evo 4g, which by the way is digging big time into the iphone sales and apple doesn't know what to do. So like the big babies they are, there started the name and flame game. Grow Up Apple. Android users unit, we need to stand together and spread the word, android is the future of smart phones.

It's not that it's apple bashing, it's the fact that apple has a huge problem and does not want to admit to their own mistakes. In addition to that, apple wants to save face and bring down other manufactures such as nokia, motorola, and htc, into the mix and say that they have this problem just as bad as apple, if not worst.

I get every device has it's problems, hell my evo has it's share, but you don't see htc trying to bring down other companies with it. Why? Because it's htc's issue and they will take care off it, which they ohave been doing, example battery life is better with the ota update.

Apple should be ashamed for ignoring the fact and stop making their consumers feel like idiots, because it is not them, it is Apple for being so smart by placing their antenna on ther exterior of their device. I hope they know that your fingers have oil on them and can transmit energy...smartguys

That's the trick. When they are making the call it switches to 1x and the 3g read goes off. What they are basically seeing and may have prevented behind the scenes is the swap to 1x.
