Anti Virus Application for the S4

Go with your comfort level. If you feel safer using an antivirus then ignore the bickering children and use one. I'm currently using Norton. I've used AVG and AVAST in the past and liked them but decided Norton was the one. I use it on my PC as well so I went with what I knew.

Most of the top name antivirus apps have been refined so they aren't resource heavy anymore so that argument is moot. Call me old school but I believe better safe than sorry. I still use Advanced Task Killer as well. I've noticed that with out it I have huge battery drains so once again I protect my comfort level.

I use AVG. Used it on my Galaxy Tab 2 a few years back as well. Completely free and never let me down. I use that together with AVG Privacy Fix and Malware Bytes Anti Malware, so my phone is locked down (could lock it down further though )

I've been a Linux user since 2000. Never had a virus in all that time. Since Android is running the Linux kernel, there is not much need for virus protection if you are careful about the apps that are downloaded and installed.

I mainly use the trio of apps from KS Mobile - Clean Master (which cleans out unused junk files and saves hard drive space), CM Security (which checks for vulnerabilities), and Battery Doctor (which closes running background apps and saves battery juice). All are free and extremely helpful for my phone and tablet.
