Any 6p owners consider the S6/G5/M10?

Sold the S6 under a month, IMO hTc is sadly done.

Not sure I have to see the G5 before I decide.

None of those three, no. Samsung still hasn't fixed their buttons problem, HTC just threw a finger print scanner on the front (although at this time it appears to not double as a physical home button, so it is mitigated disaster) and removed one of their front facing speakers and LG is not showing themselves to be ready for the big leagues in terms of software.

definitely agree with you about LG. I'm not sure what button problem you're talking about with the S7. and I kinda like the (supposed) M10's design ... I guess if I'm looking for a second device, I'm looking for something different.

NO WAY I'd trade my 6p for anything other than another Nexus, even though my fingerprint sensor has suddenly stopped functioning correctly and the volume button placement annoys me more and more every day.

Samsung still uses capacitive buttons, a physical home button and the buttons are in the wrong order. The second and third of that list have to be fixed or the device is a non starter for me, and I'd really prefer not to have capactive buttons - strong preference for on screen. Samsung also has yet to put dual speakers on the front and is doubling their home button as a fingerprint scanner. The best case scenario for me on FPS location would be on the side power button like Sony, but if it's going to be front or back - front is an absolute sin unless it is not interrupting the design, such as putting a giant button there. Back is MUCH better executed than front in every device I've ever seen so far.

The Moto X is no longer an option for me. Even ignoring the lack of a fingerprint sensor, which makes a huge difference in usability, Lenovo has shown they can't be trusted with software updates. This is particularly true since many models of last years Moto X aren't even getting updated to Marshmallow.

Excellent point.

I totally would be for yet another Nexus from Huawei this year. With the exception of a few minor details, the 6P is pretty much the perfect phone. All it would need imo is OIS for the camera, some form of split screen multitasking, and the ability to keep Doze active with movement, until triggered off by the Power button or a fingerprint unlock. Those things with Huawei's hardware, and it would be perfect. My thinking is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, improve on it.

I'm kinda impartial to capacitive buttons or not, but I really don't mind Samsung's button setup. I've only used the fingerprint sensor on the 6p so I can't say what I prefer, but the back suits me just fine. I think as developers start incorporating it into their apps, it'll be more of a priority but for now the only thing I use it for is to unlock my phone. what I'd really like to see is the FPS be on screen, which I imagine should arrive sometime next year, if not sooner. haven't even seen Sony's, but that sounds pretty cool on the side.

My first Nexus also...mostly moved to this in anticipation of switching from Sprint to Project Fi. Sprint has been pretty good for me, but the allure of the additional towers offered with Fi, plus the whole plan has me itching to move. Nexus phone required to do that. Otherwise I would have been very interested in a new HTC.

BTW...regarding USB C. Yeah, I have spent about $50 for new chargers, cables, etc. But I just look at that as a move that was gonna happen sometime. And in the short term, I bought a couple of the Micro USB to C converters to use in wifes car. Yes this means I will not have fast charge in that car but it DOES charge.

Did you buy USB-C gear that was approved by Benson Leung? I wouldn't touch anything he hasn't tested.... really... there are a lot of companies selling really horrible USB-C gear at the moment. Switching ground and power wires, etc... bad news....

Nexus!
Samsung who?
LG who?
HTC who?

Unless I can unlock the bootloader, I'm not even remotely interested.

I am done with OEM's
Sticking with Nexus and for some reason it's the only device that removes my itch for other phones. Nothing like stick and smooth Android and knowing that your phone will be up to date.

Ever since I started using nexus phones. I lost interest in oem android phones. I still read about them, etc... but I don't consider them for personal use.

Yeah, similar thoughts here. I still follow all the news from OEMs very closely, pouring over details, rumors, etc... but it is solely because of my interest in the technology and the advancement of the platform.... I really don't have any interest in owning them, well, maybe that's not quite the right phrase. I have no interest in owning one as my primary mobile device. :) If someone was to give me one, well, I would gladly accept their gracious gift and give it proper respect and treatment... but the phone I'll carry with me will have a Nexus tramp-stamp on its back.

I love my Note 5. It's quite utilitarian. I use the S Pen, Samsung Pay and the colors are marvelous. TW is very smooth and at the end of the day, I still have over half my battery life left.

Not at all! I've had it with Samsung. I love the Nexus 'no frills' experience. I went from the Nexus 6 to the LG V10, and then to the Nexus 6P. I loved the Nexus 6, but the battery life was atrocious. The V10 is a great phone, but as soon as I saw the 6P I wanted it and I finally got it today. The only thing I'll miss from the V10 is the second screen and the expandable storage. 64 gb should be plenty.

The nexus 6p was defenetly the device of the year 2015 and still is the best option on the market, the keyword is still, but as it gets older if you are as unlucky as me to damege it and meet the atrocious service / repairs policy of google and huawei you would stay open minded for a swich.
My latest history was Sgs3 ( great device )--> Sgs4 (small diference between Sgs3 and ditched it after 30 days of use) --> htc m7 ( awesome device best of 2013 in my oppinion) -- > Sgs5 ( it felt like a bigger Sgs3, or a diferent colour Sgs4 diched it after 2 weeks ) -- > LGG3 ( a game chager, I loved that device also phone of the year 2014 in my humblle oppinion). Passed the LGG4 (It did not feelt like a big upgrade from the LGG3) almoust bought the Sgs6 edge +, but changed my mind in the store in the last minute, it's sexy porwerfull, inovative but also wery gimmicky, and decided to wait for the Nexus device ... the 6P as we know it, and it proved a very wise and inspirated decision, the device is fantastic, a dream gadget, a marvel of tech, nothing but love, until... ...I broke it and had to go through the nighmare of service, I had broken phones before but all went relatively well, I would have never forseen it would be sutch a ordeal.
So yeah I am looking forward to see the LGG5 it has to be great after the relatively forgetteble LGG4, and LG are capable of inovation and greatness, I still love my ex LGG3 . the LGG5 defenetly on my radar... also looking forword to the HTC M10, HTC has to deliver if it still wants to stay on the market after the relative consecutive flop of the M8 and the disgrace M9, its all in for them, and a company that has nothing to lose in a last effort to grateness of death has if not my interest my attention. The Sgs7 is just the Sgs6 kid whit the Note 5... inbreeding, never a nice thing

I have an S6 and just ordered a Nexus 6P. I have a Nexus 7 tablet and love the pure Google experience. I am looking forward to getting it Tuesday. I have the S6 on eBay will post here too.

No. The early phones always look nice on release but I prefer waiting until the end of the year (after everything has been released) to make phone purchases. I hope to hold on to the 6p for 2 years in any case.
