any blackberry converts out there? what do you think?

I had the Tour 9630 for about a year. I really liked how it worked for me, but as my needs grew, the BB didn't comply. I miss the Tour for nostalgic reasons only. When I turn it on and use it now, it's nowhere near the phone that my Droid Pro is. I thought I was addicted to my BB... boy was I wrong!

Long BB user (Bold was my last) now on the Pro. Exchange email was easier on the BB, miss the customization of the LED and notifications but the Pro is so much more of a phone.

As much as it pains me, following BB in the news, it is not looking good for RIM.

ive been a huge blackberry fan for years but just got a galaxy tab over the holidays and and am really starting to like android and all its apps and features....i use a blackberry mainly for work but my IT will let me switch to android if i want so my question is, has anyone switched to the droid pro from a blackberry and what are your impressions?
I'm going to say the same thing a few others did. Keyboard isn't as good as a BB but the OS is wayyyyy better. I came from an HTC EVO which was a great phone but I learned I don't like virtual keyboards. At all. :) The battery life is not so hot (neither was the EVO's) but I fixed that with a Seidio Innocell 1700 mAh battery which is about 300 mAh more than the stock battery. I'm still "conditioning" it but it already is kicking the stock battery's ass and it fits in the phone with the stock cover. I don't understand why Motorola or HTC ship phones with these lame batteries in them when clearly there are better alternatives available. Overall I'm happy with the phone as it does what I want/need from a phone where as the EVO, while being a great phone, was overkill for me.

I had a Blackberry Curve and then a Blackberry Tour. I have now arrived at the Droid Pro. I'm extremely pleased with my switch and will never go back. I'll get it right out of the way though. The main thing that I'm not happy about is the battery life even with the extended battery. However, something with this much power isn't going to match a Blackberry's battery anyway. There are ways to optimize it as well. Otherwise, the OS is so much better on the Android. I can download apps without the phone freezing up. I can browse the web on a browser that doesn't take years to load. I can find an app for nearly anything I want. I think we can all admit that the apps on the Blackberry were below par at best. The Android is extremely customizable. With that being said, the sound profiles that the Blackberry had aren't on the Android phone. However, some apps like Auto Ring can fix that with some basic research. With my two previous Blackberries, they both began to get extremely slow about a year and half into their use. Just recently, my BB Tour would freeze every few minutes and even reset itself every few hours. That's another thing. The Droid Pro reboots in a matter of seconds. Blackberry Tour takes a good 10 minutes at least. I like the BB Tour keyboard a little better. I find the question mark, semicolon, and voice activation buttons on the Pro to be a bit awkward, but it's hardly a noticeable difference. I can still type extraordinarily well on the Droid Pro. I'm glad I made the jump to Android. Simple as that.
