Don't waste your time or money on the Atlas case, it's out of stock now anyways (discontinued, probably because it was poorly designed). I bought one. While it was very good protection for the phone, the sound quality was horrific and I eventually got rid of the case.
I then noticed that the new Droid Turbo and the Maxx are very similar in dimensions, the Maxx being just a hair smaller. So I bought a LifeProof case for the Turbo from my Verizon store. I put my Maxx into the case and shimmed the edge gaps with a few Qtip sticks with the cotton tips snipped off. I then put a small microfiber cloth on the back of the phone to help steady it inside the case and sealed the whole thing up. The buttons all work perfectly, as do the camera and strobe.
The charging port/USB is not perfectly lined up, nor is the headphone jack. I don't care though, because I use a wireless charger and a bluetooth headset. I just leave it sealed up and the phone works perfectly.
Sound quality is good, both for media and phone calls. Active Display works perfectly in good lighting, but when it's dark the screen occasionally refuses to wake up automatically (it's a physical limitation due to the proximity sensor being covered by the screen protector). The case profile is slender and fits into my pocket without snagging.
All told, however, this is a 95% solution to the problem.
