any chance AT&T will actually sell the Pixel 4?

If you want a unlocked phone.
But it from google.
Not a carrier.

Think you can buy a unlocked phone from Google with monthly payments too.

Silly question. Does anyone know if it will be unlocked? I'm on AT&T but I don't want all their nonsense on it and don't want to wait for updates. Thinking about just trying it out as a second phone. I currently have the S10+.
They showed today as one of the carriers that will be available through but they didn't say when.

I know...and I know if I get it from AT&T it will have a bunch of stuff I don't want (like my Samsung, although I've disabled most of that). But I've been using the NEXT program, and I'm close to being eligible to trade up.

Hopefully Google does what Apple does and restricts what AT&T puts on it. Or at least make all of it removable and not just disable. I also hope AT&T fully supports unlocked models bought straight from Google and not restrict some services.

I don't recall anything on the Verizon version of the 2XL that was different than the unlocked version. But that was awhile ago so I can't be certain.

But this is AT&T we're talking about. Lol. I think they're worse than Verizon when it comes to bloat. I mean it doesn't bother me a bunch because I just uninstall or disable. I think Verizon just had a locked bootloader if I remember correctly.

I know but I don't think they add a lot to unlocked models but I'm not an AT&T customer. Sometimes wifi calling is missing but if they become a partner that may change.

I work for At&t and it looks like you will be able to preorder the Pixel 4 through installments. Super excited about it.

The weird thing is I only saw the pixel 4XL listed. The storage looks like it goes up to 128 (that's more than enough for me but not for some).

I can't think of one unlocked device they carry. Yeah WiFi calling and other AT&T specific features were missing from the Google Pixel 2/XL and other unlocked devices but they did allow it on the Pixel 3/XL.

Either way it's a step in the right direction. Glad AT&T is finally selling it.

I had the pixel 3 xl so.
It didn't have wifi Calling.
I was having problems with reception with all the trees where I live.
People was having problems calling me.
Bought the phone from google Calling..
Took it to verizon.
They said the pixel 3 had wifi Calling.
But not the 3 xl.
Now this day and age.
Who wouldn't have wifi calling.

And I havent seen a true unlocked phone from a carrier.
Verizon told me the S8+ was unlocked as soon as I paid it off.
They lied.
It was flashed for verizon software.
It wasnt truly unlocked for any sims to operate on their phone.

I learned to go to Best Buy and Buy a unlocked phonr.

That's the first time I have heard pixel 3 had wifi calling but not the 3 xl.

The 3 XL unlocked had wifi calling on At&t, I used it every day. Hoping it is the same with the Pixel 4.

Wonder why carriers dont list wifi Calling in their specs ?
I never really noticed but it technically is a phone spec. and possibly not high on everyone's list. The information should be more transparent to the customer though. Carriers should state up front which devices are compatible both partially and fully.
