Any completely secure form of messaging?

Hi. I am trying to help a friend. He has an alcoholic family member, that we want to help, but we need to figure out how. Problem is, that this person is all over my friends phone all the time, so we need a 100% secure way of hiding our talking. Even the slightest hint of my friend using some sort of messenger, will send the addict into a frenzy, as we already have discovered once...

We can not talk over the phone and we can’t meet in person, as we are in different countries.

It is a newer Samsung phone, so it does have the hidden folder, but the addict knows how that works, and he knows how to search for hidden apps.

Is there any way of doing this? Any way to hide from mru lists, downloads on google play, anything traceable? It doesn’t have to be heavily encrypted, because what we are doing is obviously legal. We just have to make sure that the next time the phone is seized and forced open, there is no hint of us talking.

Thanks.

I can't think of a way to hide the app from the app drawer, but the one thing I can think of is download a separate messaging app (WhatsApp, Allo, etc) and turn off notifications for it. That way, the only way you can know you're talking is going into the app, nothing will pop up.

You can also look for messaging apps that need some sort of password or biometric to access so only your friend can get into it.

Hope this helps

Thanks, but no messengers must be found. And password protection will be forced open, under thread of violence. This is very close to becoming a matter for the police, but as it is family, we try to avoid that.

I am thinking something in the line of uninstalling after every use, then reinstalling again when needed. But all traces, and I do mean all, must be gone. No “recentely downloaded” or anything like that allowed.

Forced open under threat of violence 😲WTF
Sounds like the person is not worth helping, maybe some time in a prison would do then good.

Use secure folder , can put you apps you want locked there with password, fingerprint
Edit: just seen will force with password

Use a website that has links to an IRC server, and talk by IRC. Even if he finds the site in the web browser's history, if the IRC link is just one small part of the site's content, it won't stick out. And if he does find it, IRC servers don't keep records of conversations. (Neither do web browsers.)

Try something like

https://client00.chat.mibbit.com/?url=irc://freenode/test

Pick a nickname, pick a channel name (it has to start with #) and you'll be connected to a chat channel that you can talk through. (If you learn a little about IRC, you'll see how to make the channel secret and invite-only - and since you don't register it [you can, i you want, but for your purpose I wouldn't], it disappears after the last person has left it.)

Welcome to Android Central! Doesn't Facebook Messenger have the ability to make private/invisible conversations? But perhaps they'd still be visible to the viewer actually in said conversation.

Or can install a chat like tango ,where u can chat and delete the app and install when needed just put your credentials again once download.

That's why I suggested IRC through a web browser, mustang. The browser is "just there", And even if the history remains, and the drunk figures it out, there's no record of anything but going to a website. No need to constantly install and uninstall anything. (Otherwise I would have suggested an IRC app.)

Thanks for all suggestions. Will need to thoroughly think this through.

Have tried the fb solution and got caught. He is on fb too and noticed too much activity. Uninstalling tried too. Seemed to work best, only took some time cleaning mru lists on app store, as I understand it. Irc sounds like an option...

I agree. This person should be put away. But he only does these things under the influence, so the person I am trying to help, still think there is hope for a future. No violence so far, just threats. And it isnt my decision to make... :-/

Thanks again

I hope you find a solution that works and that this person gets the help he needs. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance - and keep us posted if any apps help in the future!

I wish him (and you) luck, but drunks usually end up in one of two ways - killing someone or killing themselves. One has to want to stop drinking to stop. And then, that's all that's needed - if one doesn't want to drink, one doesn't. (I've given up a few "addictions" - not alcohol or drugs - so I know how difficult it can be, but it can be done.)

Hello...We recently developed a secure texting and voice app that uses channels and is completely encrypted. Each channel is password protected and the text message is obfuscated until you touch on it. The channel can be setup by the channel owner to completely destroy the channel from all participant phones if there are multiple failed channel login attempts. Please let me know if this person is still having a problem and we will provide them with the application so that they can communicate safely. Please let me know how I can help.
