Any downsides to lower to 0.5 the animation scale setting ?

On the first day with my phone, I set all 3 to 0 and couldn't figure out why I couldn't long press on home screen to get popup with choices. Read somewhere here on the forums that animator duration needed to be set to .5 to get that option back. I changed that one to .5 and had the long press popup menu again.

Last night I set animator duration to 0 (all three on 0) and still had the long press menu. Not sure what changed but something did.

Yeah, Samsung fixed that problem on a recent TW update. I'll try to find the thread and post it here.

That's probably it since I installed the latest TW not long after I changed the one setting back to .5. I couldn't remember what might have changed on my end.

another weirdness about this phone. I keep setting all three to zero, or two to zero and leave one .5x, and when I go back in it has reset to value of 1x on two. I'm going to have to do a FR to cure it one of these days.

what about moving icons on the home screen? others and I have had issues removing, uninstalling icons, etc. due to long press being absent.

Yeah all works great on mine. Guess it is from the update that was posted earlier. I always keep mine and .5 anyways so didn't notice your issue. I saw other poster post about not being able to do it on 0 and tested it and worked.

...and to make it short and sweet, it supposedly helps to clear up the "Lag" that some people whine about, which, in fact, I have NEVER noticed to begin with, as far back as the Note 5???

Not needed on Note 8 to be honest. Phone is so freaking smooth. I'm good.

Going all the way to 0 will actually make you not be able to long press and uninstall apps. I had to go back to 0.5.

If you use the default Samsung email app (which I have to use for work), there is still another problem with leaving the Animator Duration Scale at 0. It may be a minor issue for some, but caused me some headaches. In the details section of an email, it prevents you from being able to see all the recipients of an email.
