Im hoping a T-Mobile employee didnt say this and its being taken seriously.
Last trip to the T-Mobile store I listened to the sales guy say the G6 didnt have wireless charging, waterproofing and the camera was the same one used in the iPhone 4. These were his reasons for telling the customer the S8 was the better phone. His manager agreed while I laughed out loud holding my G6.
These guys know nothing about these phones most of the time let alone the issues they have or dont have. If its an actual article released somewhere Id love to read it though.
You know what? I hate generalizations and try not to make them, but your experience is very similar to what I had when returning my S8 for the G6. When I entered the store and told the manager I'd like to return the S8 and get a G6 because I wasn't pleased with it, I got all sorts of hogwash about "We've had problems with LG phones" and "are you sure you want to do this? You won't be allowed another return." "The price drop might be an indication of something wrong."
1. The manager failed to specify what types of problems they've had with LG phones.
2. If LG phones are so problematic on AT&T why the heck are they being sold?
3. The price drop is an indication of LG trying to move their product. (Like Samsung isn't doing a BOGO on the S8 now)
4. I found the question, "Are you sure you want to do this?" insulting. As if I was going to change my mind based on 1 opinion.
5. "You won't be allowed another return." Ok, maybe not here, but I can visit a hundred other AT&T retail locations to process my return.
6. My response to the incoming Direct TV sales pitch was a polite, "No thank you." But in my mind, it was an emphatic hell to the no based on my in store experience alone.
I do my research on AC and by watching YouTubers, make a decision and then go to the store when I have to.
My apologies for the rant and going off topic, but the G6 has been an excellent device for me for the past 3 weeks.
