Any faith left for sprint

Switched to sprint when they first got wimax. Years later and still no 4g in my area. 8 month ago had enough and switched to att. My daughter gets 25% discount. Our bill for 5 phones was $270 - $290. They came out with new plans, and made it so we could switch, even though we already had new phones and a contract. Our bill now for 5 phones after discount is $167.78 per month. We have LTE most places. 10 gigs of data to share. And don't have near the dropped calls we had on sprint. So glad we switched.

Screw sprint. They really pissed me off about 2 years ago, and I dropped them quick. Now I have straight talk (ATT towers) and get almost 20mb/sec down. Not bad for an mvno. And it's only $45 a month no contract.

Sprint is fine for me in South Florida. I get enough speed, and although I've had issues with their planning (they took a tower out in the middle of the evening without telling me first), but with the Framily thing I'm at $50 now, soon to be $45. I used to pay for Spotify, but I get 6 months free now, and then $5 off for 18 months. Not a bad deal as I was already paying for Spotify at full price. I could agree if someone is in an area with bad service, but I can't see the need for more than 5mbps down anyways to be honest, as YouTube/Pandora/Netflix/Spotify don't need much more than that. Just got 3.7/.41mbps inside. Not great, but my friend's TMobile just got 6.7mbps, so better, but not enough better for me to pay more.

I am loving T-Mobile that is #4 in customers but #3 Sprint is going to try to buy T-Mobile in May or June from the reports since they are taking Sprints customers. T-Mobile just added 2.4M new customers as Sprint lost 467K customers. I like T-Moblie's Uncarrier attack and hope Sprint is stopped from buying TM. Competition keeps dropping the prices and I sure hope that we still have four major carriers and not just three. Spint has the hardest path to update their network and T-Moblie has been outpacing it's schedule of re-farming Metro PCS towers and bandwidth & frequency into T-Moblie that will have double the speed of upto 150Mbps downloads by the end of 2015.

I've been with Sprint for over 16 years and have had my share of hatred towards them in that amount of time for a variety of things. I just have to say though that jumping off to another carrier now if your reason is because of network issues is a little like stopping running the marathon when you can see the finish line is in sight. Spend some time at s4gru.com and you'll get fax on exactly where they are with the completion of their network upgrades in your particular area. You also have to look hard at the total amount of spectrum that each carrier has and what they can do with that spectrum in the future. I think you would be surprised at the amount of spectrum that Sprint has and is putting to use as part of Network Vision compared to the other carriers.

To late I already jumped. I spent 4 full years with sprint. First with the og evo with promise of wimax then evo LTE with promise of fast LTE. Well I'm done with that.

Let me tell you I feel ashamed what I've put N5 through since October. ATT is on a different league then sprint in my home town. Just imagine two Lamborghini's one stock and one with a 4 cylinder in it. That is how ATT is to sprint in my town. I know this because I've used both in the last week. I'm just sorry I didn't change sooner

That's great until you realize the one with the 4 cylinder has an endurance tank with 50 gallons in it, and the other has a nice small 11 gal tank lol

So are you say that sprint is going to dominate att in the end?

No what I was saying is unlimited slower data, is better than faster tiered data. Att is good, over priced but good

Same here. I was with Sprint for over 10 years and in January I switched to T-Mobile. I'm very pleased with the faster data speed and the cheaper monthly bill.

Same here- I was with Sprint for 15 years. Their 3G network went to crap when the iphone came out. I waited it out for YEARS until finally LTE. That started out super fast, although barely any coverage. 9 months later, it nose-dived to like 4Mb/s. And the last year, I had terrible text messaging issues and that is what finally pushed me to T-Mobile when they kept lying to me and doing nothing about my issues (which I know others were having too).

T-Mobile might have less overall coverage, but OMG the network is so much faster and more reliable than Sprint. And for me T-Mobile is a little less expensive too, even though I had a corporate discount on SPrint. Been three months now, not a single duplicate, lost, or delayed text message and I have never seen speeds less than quadruple Sprint's. As for unlimited data- turns out I never really needed it. In fact, I am not even using the 3GB on T-Mobile so I might drop down and save even more.

I used to agree that att is overpriced. But with this new 10gb plan for 2 phones for $130 is VERY competitive. But yes if you need more then 10GB it ain't going to work i guess. But slower data is not OK I was lucky to get 2mbps

They must have done a really good job in Chicago.. I live in Dallas and they've told me the network vision is done here and Spark is active and it's not much better, I actually got a text message from Sprint 3 or 4 weeks ago telling me how excited they were to announce the network vision was completed in my area (With a link that took me to the Sprint site and you could click on towers in your area showing all these speed/network upgrades)... and I live in the heart of the DFW area.. There are spots that are pretty good but for the most part it's pretty bad.... My best friend has AT&T and he smokes me every day no matter where we are in both coverage and amazing speed.... but if I am not mistaken I think Dallas is the corporate headquarters of AT&T Wireless.....
My step-son-in-law works next to a 4G tower in Minneapolis, and says the speeds there are amazing. I've had 8 down 12 up (Yes, that is correct) on my old GNext at times on 4G, but durring the upgrade, 3G was really bad. I still have bad data rates at times in more populated areas ( live close to one of the larger malls in the area, data sucks there)

The N5 I haven't found the speeds quite as nice, but more folks have 4G now, and I rarely use it due to my affore mentioned lack of need. But Spark is not on the N5 at the moment anyway, so until the next system update, I wouldn't expect 4G to be that impressive.

The question should not be "Am I the fastest", it should probably be "Is it acceptable for my needs"?. Chances are the NV tower upgrades are done, but after that finished, they still did some backhaul upgrades in Chicago, and that should help the speeds a bit, as will enabling spark (which should also help with signal strength).

The best phone plan and carrier will be different for every person. I'm mostly happy with Sprint (doesn't hurt they've compensated me for issues when I have had them), the bill is right and should get better (I have 4-5 people who should be joining my Framily soon enough), and the Service is pretty good now, and I think should only get better.

That may be true for you but for some that is totally not the case. My girlfriend is on T-Mobile since she has had them for years but if they were as slow as Sprint she would take faster over unlimited anyday. Why? She uses maybe 2 GB a month.. That's it. She just wants stuff to load when she goes to use her phone.

Not everyone needs tons of data... Some may average 2-3 GB or even less so it's pointless to pay for unlimited if they don't need it. My parents average 50 MB a month... So unlimited is pointless.. They just want stuff to work when they go to use it.

I left Sprint due to horrid speeds in my area (tons of 3g...average down speeds of 0.3 Mbit) as well... But I do need unlimited as I average alot of GB... So T-Mobile was the best option for me in my area... Speed and unlimited.

i was with Sprint since 2008. i switched to AT&T GoPhone with the Nexus 5 on launch day. i was shocked at how much faster and ubiquitous 4G LTE coverage was on AT&T vs. Sprint. i didn't know what i was missing until i had it!

Well I use about 10gb or more a month. I stream a ton of content. Sprint works fine in the Cambridge Boston area. Most of NV is complete, so my LTE speeds have only been better. Peak I get 4-8 down. Off peak 20+ down. Latency is also low, which is good. I can't do T-Mobile. I had them before. Coverage was horrible. Calls dropped. And someone tried to take money out of my checking account, that I did not authorize. That was a debacle, and I had to fax them bank records to fix the problem. I don't really run into to much 3G where I am, when I do its usually not much more than 1mb/down. Their network was def not ready for the whole smartphone explosion. In time. It'll get better. 1 thing I'm happy about is having my nexus and being off contract. I can now go where I choose.

Said it better then I could have...
I only use 2gb a month anyways so unlimited doesn't really have the same meaning to me as others. But when I pay the bill every month, I really remember all those times I couldn't even watch a youtube video without spend just as much buffering time as the 2min video. Or having a discussion at work and everybody googles the answers and my phone was still thinking

By the way for those are thinking that hey, if Sprint buys T-Mobile, it is going to fix the issues immediately it won't. One of the biggest slow downs will be the fact that Sprint is using CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM.

Also for those talking about ATT being higher priced,

in Jan of 2014 before ATT introduced their new price plan, the average price per Sprint customer bill was 144 a month, ATT was 141.

Well see if you get LTE everywhere I can see why it makes sense for you ... but you were telling someone who gets 3G (at dial up speeds) that it is better since it is unlimited data versus another provider that could actually deliver the content.. Doesn't make sense :D.

Most just don't need unlimited... As you said you do due to your usage .. I do as well. I average about 85 GB a month on mobile data... but honestly if I could just have good wifi at work .. that would drop a ton and I would probably be on Verizon so I could have coverage everywhere I went. Also you can always be off contract by buying any phone full price .. doesn't have to be a Nexus ;). I am off contract (or "device payment plan") with T-Mobile right now ... can leave whenever I please. :).

I totally agree. The most I've ever used is 1gb. But when I do need some information, website, whatever, I want fast. I get 16-17mb down with ATT towers. (straight talk plan) Not everyone is a data hound, and some of us actually do things other than stare at our cell phones all day.
