any great (free even better) photo recovery programs out there?

I've found a few, but in order to use them, it requests that I debug my phone, which I'm leery about. I want to make sure I'm using a reliable and safe program. Anyone know of one to use? I have a Maxx HD. Just to clarify, I'm trying to recover photos that were deleted off of my phone in its internal memory.
