Any ideas when ICS will hit the EVO 3d?

I thought this thread was about when you think ics is coming to the 3d not cameras start a thread about cameras if ya want to chat about that

There's a beta ics sense 4.0 rom available on xda. Put together by newtoroot. Granted, it isn't official ics, but it's probably better, anyway. :D

Check it out

I was gonna see if there was a you tube vid review of it

Rockin an EVO3D with positive thoughts

6+ months to get ICS. I'm guessing the next version is out of the question then?

I doubt the Evo 3D will have the required hardware to run Jellybean. Hardware advances so quickly now, 2 year old phones just can't compete.

I don't agree with that. The latest and greatest (GNEX, OneX) both have only 1GB of RAM (same as 3D) and dual core processors (same as 3D) and comparable GPU's. The GNEX is 100% getting the next version of Android and so is the One X.

The reason we won't get the next version of Android wiill have nothing to do with specifications. EVO 3D a device that's less than a year old that's already been EOL. It's a commercial failure.

And they want you to keep buying phones over and over and over too

I do have to disagree with you on one point. Yes both the OneX and the Evo 3D have dual-core processors, but that doesn't mean they are the same. Even though the clock speeds are similar, the OneX's processor is definitely a generation ahead of the Evo 3D's.

That being said, you're probably right. When comparing hardware, the Evo 3D will probably be able to run Jellybean, but won't get it. I guess this means I'll be rooting eventually. :)

Edit: I wonder if the SG2 will get a Jellybean update. I think it's the most comparible competitor to the Evo3D, and was MUCH more successful. But it's Samsung, and they don't do well with updates. Thoughts?

Just so you all know the evo 3d and sensation will have the ics update 2 weeks after evo lte launches. ok. thats straight from my htc rep

If you are rooted I recommend the Booster Shot ROM. It is stable and runs ICS.

That means a couple more days for the Official OTA update.
