Any iPhone users going to pixel ?

Just curious if any iOS people are jumping ship to try the pixel

Yes! I ordered the Quite Black Pixel 128gb. I started out on iPhone when they first came out till 2013. Tried an Android for a year or so and went back to iPhone. I didn't like that the Android system would get an update and it was slowly pushed out to the phones. Now that Google will control this, I'm back with Android tomorrow!

Well I was going to buy a huge cluster**** with Verizon has prevented me from doing so. I much prefer the fluidity of iOS compared to Android as the android devices I have had always had a slight "lag" to them. I was looking forward to the Pixel XL on the payment plan with Verizon but I refuse to pay $869 plus taxes outright to buy it. I also refuse to open another line just to have it because I would then have 2 phones on the Verizon payment plan.

I think Google did well with the design and I am anxious to see more reviews on the software and hardware quality.

NOTE: I have the Matte Black 128 GB iPhone 7+

This is me to the T , I have been alternating between android and iOS for 3 years (having 2 phones) and like u I always miss something from both so I've just being using both...recently I got tired of carrying 2 phones around and grabbed a note 7 (just returned it last week) and the only available phone Verizon had was the iPhone 7plus 256gb , they did a even swap 😄 Now I've been using iOS solely and it's been pretty good... I absolutely love the lag free environment my god it's refreshing. The things I hate about the iPhone: in hand feel (too bulky) , no widgets this drives me crazy every hour I'm asking myself what can I do to this phone to make it better lol and no fast charge, no more falling asleep on my phone, then throwing it on the charge for 30 minutes then running out the door what a decent amount of juice

hi I've been long term iOS user but always tried android devices. I think this Pixel XL may covert me fully, it arrives sometime today according to shopping status.

I jump between IOS and Android. I have a Iphone 6S as a secondary phone. It will be replaced by a Pixel. I won't grieve when the Iphone is gone. I use an HTC 10 as my daily driver.

Update: Switched Verizon sims and now my Pixel is my daily driver! Love it.

I don't think that will be the case with the Pixel judging by the videos I've watched. I used to like the smoothness of IOS but it's not consistently like that anymore, at least not from my experience. I have a Jet Black 256 7 Plus and love it, but it does stutter and lag here & there. It's been this way since the major IOS 7 update.

I currently have a space grey iPhone 6s Plus. Had it for about a year and overall it was and is a decent device.

I'm an old Blackberry guy, and I really loved those smartphones. Then one day I went into VZW and found this cool new piece of tech called a Palm Pre +. I rocked it for a little while, but the experience was, in general, not to my liking. VZW had a Droid X on display and I snagged it. That was my first Android phone, and I Rooted that bad boy and had major fun with it. Used an iPhone 4 for a while (and to this day, I still say that was the best industrial design phone ever). Flirted with a Nokia Lumia 822, snagged a Note 3 (my favorite Android to date), and had a Galaxy S6 edge (which I gave to a family member).

So, I've been all over the board, but I am looking forward to trying the Pixel XL on Project Fi, and I am hoping someone can figure out a way to create a dark theme or ROM because while I am excited to get back to using Android, I do not like all the bright white that Google uses in Material Design. That aside, I am looking forward to having live wallpapers, widgets, playing with Nova, rooting, xPosed, all the good stuff.

The iPhone has it quirks for sure, and the lack of customization does indeed make it slightly boring. However, the battery, at least on the 6s Plus, is great.

And one more thing....

On my Droid X and Note 3, there was significant battery drain. I would have to go into recovery and clear cache once in a while to stabilize it. I hope with the Pixels this is not something we are going to be bothered with. Not a huge deal but cmon it's 2016.

Things I miss when using the iPhone: apps like Tasker or choosing my own SMS app. Widgets/customization, and this one really hit me last time, the back button. The only things that kept me using iOS was my tablet and computer at Apple, but most of all was the Siri integration when setting reminders, appointments, timers, etc. So easy to do when I'm driving without having to look at the screen using voice. I'm hoping the built in Google Assistant will do the same. I really haven't seen that funtionality addressed much in the reviews. Fingers crossed. Guess I'll find out today according to tracking info.

That's one thing I forgot to mention on my last post. With the iPhone I very seldom think about battery management.

Also as I was replying to this post and trimming some of the quote, I prefer androids text selection controls. iOS's drives me nuts.

Moving from an iPhone 4s to the Pixel XL. I considered Android last year, but never got around to pulling the trigger. Overall I've been happy with the iPhone, but I'm looking for something different. (Granted, a 7+ would be different from a 4s too....)

Totally agree. It drives me crazy too LOL.

I did it the other way around. Went to IOS. I bounce back and forth for IOS to Android. I currentlly have a 7 128gb. I still have the 5X but it was starting to lag and I wasnt having that for a 1 year old phone. I know the 5X did have the latest and greatest hardware but come on the phone shouldnt lag after a year, which is what I have notice from ALL my Android. There are features I miss from my 5X, but nothing I cant live without. Just like there are features on IOS that I miss while on Android. Like most, for the price ,it wasnt worth the jump to Pixel. I basically use my phone for text, which IOS emojis are way better than Androids blobs, email, calls, internet and a game or two. We will see how the Pixel pans out over acouple of months and see what the future holds.

Does all of the above. Has done all of the above at least since 5.0. Assistant expands on it even more. She's pretty darn smart.

Here. I have an iPhone 6s Plus, tried the 6P for a while and then sold it. I loved how fast it was, even after 6 months of use. Only problem was battery life and camera (slow). Pixel XL seems has improved these 2 areas so... I'm going to try it in store now.
