Yep. I've alternated between iOS and android for years. Always something I miss from the other when I jump. Hoping the Pixel won't disappoint.Just curious if any iOS people are jumping ship to try the pixel

Lucky youhi I've been long term iOS user but always tried android devices. I think this Pixel XL may covert me fully, it arrives sometime today according to shopping status.
Well I was going to buy a huge cluster**** with Verizon has prevented me from doing so. I much prefer the fluidity of iOS compared to Android as the android devices I have had always had a slight "lag" to them. I was looking forward to the Pixel XL on the payment plan with Verizon but I refuse to pay $869 plus taxes outright to buy it. I also refuse to open another line just to have it because I would then have 2 phones on the Verizon payment plan.
I think Google did well with the design and I am anxious to see more reviews on the software and hardware quality.
NOTE: I have the Matte Black 128 GB iPhone 7+
Things I miss when using the iPhone: apps like Tasker or choosing my own SMS app. Widgets/customization, and this one really hit me last time, the back button. The only things that kept me using iOS was my tablet and computer at Apple, but most of all was the Siri integration when setting reminders, appointments, timers, etc. So easy to do when I'm driving without having to look at the screen using voice. I'm hoping the built in Google Assistant will do the same. I really haven't seen that funtionality addressed much in the reviews. Fingers crossed. Guess I'll find out today according to tracking info. This is me to the T , I have been alternating between android and iOS for 3 years (having 2 phones) and like u I always miss something from both so I've just being using both...recently I got tired of carrying 2 phones around and grabbed a note 7 (just returned it last week) and the only available phone Verizon had was the iPhone 7plus 256gb , they did a even swapNow I've been using iOS solely and it's been pretty good... I absolutely love the lag free environment my god it's refreshing. The things I hate about the iPhone: in hand feel (too bulky) , no widgets this drives me crazy every hour I'm asking myself what can I do to this phone to make it better lol and no fast charge, no more falling asleep on my phone, then throwing it on the charge for 30 minutes then running out the door what a decent amount of juice
On my Droid X and Note 3, there was significant battery drain. I would have to go into recovery and clear cache once in a while to stabilize it. I hope with the Pixels this is not something we are going to be bothered with. Not a huge deal but cmon it's 2016.
That's one thing I forgot to mention on my last post. With the iPhone I very seldom think about battery management.
Also as I was replying to this post and trimming some of the quote, I prefer androids text selection controls. iOS's drives me nuts.
