Any Nexus 6P owners upgrading to a Pixel XL?

I pre-ordered the silver 128GB Pixel XL and it costs 929$ after the 60$ of tax outch. For me the main reason for the upgrade are a bit smaller screen compared to the 6p and the camera speed. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old baby and to take pics they never stay still so the nexus 6p being a bit slow shooting HDR+ pics usually results of a blur pic so i'm usually turning off HDR+. Not having to turn off HDR+ and still have the shutter speed be quicker then the nexus 6p with HDR+ turned off was a win for me. I'm constantly snapping pics of my kids these days so the camera upgrade sold me. I also think its a nice looking phone, but like most people mentioned I'm not too happy about the price, but oh well lets hope it meets the hype it's getting.

@maher79...Curious as to what you used between the time you sold the old 6P up until buying the latest 6P?
I had 5x as a backup. Bought it for $249 on project fi. Still have it now and thinking about selling it for $200. Still brand new.

same here, I always have to ask for my wife's iPhone 7 to take pictures of our 4 months old.

If it's promo-priced w/ an upgrade? Maybe. Just got a brand new 6P sent to me today from Google b/c of ongoing mic issues so I'm gonna have a new phone anyway lol

I also have mic issues. I can only make a phone call on speaker. I upgraded to Pixel XL 32gb. There's no need for the extra memory because you get complete full resolution back up from Google. I love the Nexus line and I'm sure I'll love the Pixel line too.

Hell no. 6P for another year and letting Google learn from their mistakes.
What mistakes? Just wondering what you think.

The price is high yes, but honestly the phone is comparable to pretty much any other flagship, especially Apple. And a free Daydream headset! Apple is making their customers buy more stuff (adapters and such).

If I buy a new phone it's probably going to be a 6P. Prices are going to drop substantially and the Pixel phones are just ridiculously expensive, to me anyway

I'm inclined to the same. Still running (and loving) my N6, though it's starting to develop a few hiccups (uncertain as to how many are related to Nougat - though the final release is worlds better than the DP5 preview it was plagued with.

That, and going from 6" to 5.5" might be too drastic an immediate move, vs. 5.7, not to mention the almost guaranteed-to-be-poorer speaker performance on the Pixels.

Am I the only one with issues with 6p screen not going on to full bright fast enough when a call comes in when in bright day light? Also, I might also be having mic issues. I plan to keep the phone as a spare when I get my Pixel XL.

I'm going to buy a Pixel XL as soon as the Google Store has more. I like my 6P but I want the Assistant and I'm not going to wait until February or March to get it.

I decided to bite the bullet and preordered it. Thought that I might as well while the resell value of the 6p is still pretty good

For you Nexus 6P owners out there, are you considering upgrading to a Pixel XL? If so (or not), why?

For me, I've not seen anything compelling enough for me to upgrade my 6P. I like the distinct look to it, still solid architecture, the dual front facing speakers, a camera that still holds its own (needs a better stock camera app though), and it's going to get regular OS and security updates for at least another year.

Not a Nexus 6P user here, but I am currently using Nexus 5, which is long overdue to switch to new phone.

I am still wondering whether I should get 6P or the Pixels.

That all depends on your budget. If you can afford a Pixel, then by all means, get it. If you can't then you will be happy with a 6p. I got a like new one for $280. It's that simple, both great phones, it's a matter of $$$$

Yeah, the auto brightness seems wonky on mine, too.

I debated buying the Pixel 2015 Chromebook due to the price, but now it's my daily driver. I debated buying the Pixel C due to the price, but it's my most used tablet to date. I figured with the Pixel XL I'd do the same and ordered black 32G XL. If you have the money, and use your device enough to need the specs, it's worth it imho. I travel alot, work in racks and away from a conventional desk, so the need to have portable, high-spec devices is a daily concern. I just wish it looked like a Pixel, yeah I'm officially now the fanboy I made fun of 5 years ago, cest la vie, the circle of life is complete.

Staying with my 6p. I had the Note 7 for 2 weeks before returning it for a refund and going back to the 6p. Made me realize how truly awful the screen on the 6p is...total wash out in direct sunlight and overall pale in comparison. And fingerprint smudge seems to accumulate much more on the 6p screen. Hearing nothing in this announcement about the pixel screen I have to assume it is no better than that of the 6p, so that is a fail for me. I also cannot stand the bezels/forehead/chin on the pixel. And I was surprised by how much I liked the wireless charging on the Note 7. I would have gone to the s7e, but I won't go back to micro USB.

Going to wait and see what the galaxy s8 brings, as that announcement is only 3-4 months away.

Before I answer this, let me say that I think google has done a great job designing this phone. After watching their presentation and various hands on videos, I couldn't find anything spec or design wise that I didn't like about it. Problem is, google also did very good job with the 6P. I've had the phone since February and it's far and away the best smartphone I've ever owned. To me, the decision to upgrade or not comes down to price and what you get for that price. When I bought my 6P I think I ended up spending around $425 out of pocket for it. Comparing that to the Pixel XL, that's quite a difference. Is there enough new features to justify spending the extra $350 on the Pixel XL, to me I don't believe so. I will continue to enjoy my Nexus 6P and if there happens to be a price drop sometime down the road, I will re-evaluate whether I will choose to upgrade or not.
