Any Note 9 user own a tab 4???

I have Note9 and Tab S4. love both. My only gripe is that Tab S4 only has 4 GB RAM. Half of what Note9 has.

I do understand the 4gb of Ram. But I'm using an Nvidia shield K1 tablet thats a gaming tablet that came out in June 2014. This tablet was fast still is but it's a 1080p screen 8 inch tablet. Netflix and YouTube kills the battery even for a tablet that had great battery and even standby. I ordered the 256 GB tab s4. I've had the S9+ before the note 9 and that extra GB makes a difference. So the 256GB on the Tab S4 should make it a lagless tablet.

Personally I wont ever buy another Samsung tablet, and now that I have a Note 9 probably no need for a tablet anyways.

I have a Galaxy Tab S2, which by the way, is still sold in stores like my local Best Buy.

Samsung has already discontinued updates for it so the tablet is stuck and does not even get security updates much less OS updates.

Samsungs support for their tablets is CRAP and makes them 100% unworthy of a purchase.

You can install updates using Odin.
Although Samsung is rolling out updates of Orio for its S3

Ummm... Tab S3 is still getting updates, and Tab S4 is keeping up to date(ish...this IS Samsung anyway) even with security updates. Tab S2, maybe yeah since it's a very old device now, but you should expect updates for at least a couple years on a new device. And to be fair, 2018 models are REALLY keeping up with updates (at least the main models), so can't complain there.

I put the part of your statement in bold that is paramount.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is still being sold BRAND NEW in stores (my local Best Buy).
Yeah I do expect updates for a product still being sold in stores.

You can still find 5-year-old routers in Stores that don't get any patches at all. That has nothing to do with a company's continued support and development. Heck, you can still find Wii U's in some stores, will you be mad that no one makes games for it anymore? No, you go in and pay for what you're getting. Yes, the S2 might be sold in stores, but it's sold as is, at the appropriate price (ish, it's still an expensive proposition) and if proper research (as it should be) is done, knowing that these devices won't likely get more than 2 years worth of updates/support beyond their release date.

I have the Tab S4 and love it. Use it quite often on a daily basis. Nice to give the phone beast a break here and there lol.

Tab S2 got 2 Android OS updates, same as any of their Note or S series phones.

This is a weak, and incorrect statement/argument, at best.

No the Wii U is not sold in stores anymore, at least not sold new and not at any major retailer.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is still sold brand new and at a very expensive price that is not what I would consider an appropriate price point for a device that no longer gets support.

You can try and defend your argument until you are blue in the face but its shameful Samsung does not support brand new products you buy in the store.
And yes I fully expect a brand new device I buy in a major retailer down the street from my house to at least come out of the box up to date much less have a little bit of support.

Sure you could argue bout the OS update but no security updates either? FOR A BRAND NEW DEVICE??

NO EXCUSE.

Samsung is horrible on device support.

I have the Note 9 and the Tab S4, and really like both of them. I also have he iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 10.5 Gen 2. (need two phones for work/personal ... as for why I don't have the new iPad 11? the hardware is already too powerful for the OS)

But while I would choose the Note 9 over the iPhone (always preferred Android as phone OS based on my usage) and honestly choose the Note 9 over everything based on the amount I use the S-Pen ...

While I do like the S4 and feel it is the best Android tablet I have owned, the 2017 iPad is incredibly better, more powerful, feature packed and so on compared to the Galaxy Tab S4 ... it isn't even close. Android tablets have always been dodgy, and the OS is so incredibly clearly NOT for tablets - and most apps are crappy phone ports.

There are only a few reasons I still keep it:
- the OS lock-in (like Apple, it is easier to be Android-Android for phone/tablet)
- Linux on DeX - reasonably useful, and also fun.
- Neverwinter Nights ... a fave game of mine from 2012, it supports the keyboard fully which makes playing it like having a solid performing ultra-portable PC. Given that most games (and apps) come to iOS first, this was a great Android-first release.

Not to be too down on the S4, as it is solid hardware ... but it is unfortunate that Google has simply never prioritized giving tablets a decent OS, which means that app makers never prioritize the Android tablet user experience.
