Any other way to turn the screen off?

Is there any way to turn off the screen, other than palm on watch face (awkward when wearing a coat) or waiting for the screen to time out?

I can hardly ever get mine to turn off with the palm method.

I wish there was another method, eg double press the back button. Would be much more discreet.

Try tapping with your palm stretched. It's not tap and hold as there's no hold involved. It's a very quick tap with the palm of your hand.
Hopefully that will work for you.

I will try it. I have Dupuytrens contractures so my palms are far from flat. Maybe part of the issue.
