Any Radio Shack employees here? What do you get for the one year upgrade?

Best Buy is good at scamming people. Read somewhere that they were charging up to $49.99 to hook up ps3's. At most, it's three wires. Then there was the computer "optimization" they were forcing down peoples throats.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!

As much as I hate to say it, I get calls all the time from people who can't manage things like that.

I had only been with Sprint for a little over a year and only paid $200 plus tax for my EVO at RadioShack. Reading what you guys have been saying makes me wonder how in the heck I got such a good deal... I did end up paying an extra $100 to get it replaced after I washed it a week later. :(

Depends on when you got your evo. If it was before the changes to the premier program took effect, there's your answer.

Well, two of my friends got Evos too, one bought it launch day, just like me, the other bought it in August. Despite of what the Sprint guy told me on the phone, their eligibility just changed recently. Both were eligible for the 2 year upgrade in June and August of this year, but now they are settled with the 1 year upgrade in June and the 2 year in April of next year.

Pretty crazy stuff if you ask me.

I work for the Radio Shack in North Texas and i for a FACT know that the $75 is added to OUR price of the phone...example, if our evo is $200 and early upgrade customer pays $275 plus tax. the reason for that is that since we dont do mail in rebates (only sprint corporate do) we just add the $75 to our price...and now, the buy back program for bestbuy, its good and all but if you didnt buy your phone from bestbuy you cant trade it in. With Radio Shack you can trade in any working phone as long its in our pretty big list of trade ins...all in all Radio Shack gives better deals than Best Buy (most of the time)

If you work at a Radio Shack, you would have seen the memo released a week ago saying that this is not the case.

It's the full retail price and then subtract $75.

The problem is, the old pos system allowed one to add on instant rebates even if they weren't supposed to be added. Which in the end caused chargebacks to be added to the store's budget, a very bad thing.

The new pos system does not allow the instant rebates to be applied and fixes that problem.

So summary is: it's not supposed to be any cheaper than full price minus $75.
Some people are erroneously making it cheaper than that with the old system that allows this.
Because this causes the store to get dinged a few hundred dollars, as the new POS system is rolled out this ability is taken away. Only the rebates that are SUPPOSED to be applied are applied.

Well that sucks for me. I think that's what happened to me last time when I bought the EVO, they took off more and the price was better. My local store just upgraded to the new system so I guess I am going to pay a bit more this time too.

The memo actually said to check the pricing on the phones first. If you did, you would see that the 1 yr on the evo is 375.

There evo 3d or 4G? If it is the 3D then I looking at 375-50-100=225. 50 for the gift card and 100 for trading in my 4G?
