Any Regrets?

I bought the Very Silver XL, having failed to pay attention to the fact that it has a white face - something I really do not care for. Trying to get used to it, but I don't think I will ever be able to love it. I will most likely put a DBrand skin on the face just to darken it up.

I also bought a silver 128GB XL. This was due to stock availability at time of pre-order, but now I like the silver more than the charcoal one.

I put a black dbrand wrap on mine to prepare for Android Oreo, and it looks slick as hell! Definitely makes it look unique.

I do like how that looks.

I have already bought the dbrand wrap and slickwrap (voting specials :-) ). How hard was it to get lined up? I think your two tone really looks slick.

Apps do not update until phone screen is turned on or mail app is opened.

Are you quite sure of that? I often wake up in the morning and see several apps have updated overnight while the phone was sitting on my nightstand (albeit, plugged in).

Don't get me wrong, I like the silver - my 6P was also silver/aluminum. It's the white face that I don't care for.

i regret buying it but have now sent it back for a refund. I won't expound on my reasons but for me the value vs price just isn't worth it.

I'd say this is the perfect place for you to expound on your reasons for returning it for a refund. :)

I expounded at the end even though I said i wouldn't. The value vs the price paid in the way i do math just doesn't equal out. Even for a first generation product they have come up short IMO and it's a disappointment. IMO for that price i can get something better, and I've done just that.

Curious what you got instead

I actually lined it up perfectly on my first try. after that, it was just a matter of using a hairdryer on the edges where it wraps up near the SIM slot and volume/power buttons. Just a little heat and it sticks and stays perfectly.

It makes the phone a little more grippy while retaining the premium build feel.

well I already had backup phones here at home. My Galaxy s7, Nexus 5x, and iPhone 7. Think I'm going to just use the iPhone 7 since I'm fatigued with Android. I may just sell the other 2 phones and remain in the fruit camp. I'm starting to get smartphone fatigued period and I don't see myself buying them often anymore. I plan on keeping phones longer and upgrading way less frequently than in the past.

I actually get the smartphone "fatigue" comment...mine really started about the time I left Windows Phone for Android (though was fairly happy with my Note 5) and came to a head with the Note 7 / Recall / Replacement / Second Recall thing...didn't help that my Verizon Rep at work ordered me the 5" Pixel when I requested the XL, so having to downsize on phones hasn't helped (my XL is due to ship by the 18th of this month.) But considering the Bluetooth issues I've been having and one of our employees is having and the fact that the Camera has been a mild letdown for me, I've considered cancelling the XL and going V20, Moto (top of the line) or this iPhone 7+ 256GB I have sitting in my desk that manager said I could have. The main reason I don't want to go iPhone: iTunes Syncing...I want to plug my phone in and copy photos off and then in turn delete, all from the file manager...I've yet have been unable to do that on an iPhone. I just want to be in a phone and be done with it...been on a perpetual "temp phone" since the first Note 7 recall.

iTunes...the bane of the iPhone.

yep fatigued. But I can deal with the pain of iTunes since I use a Mac at home. I also went this direction because Apple seems to have a better grip and demands more quality in apps from their app store. I grew tired of the lack of focus Google has on the play store and app quality suffers because of it. Google size alone should make them demand more of their developers in this regard on quality and the way apps use permissions on their play store. I haven't synced the iPhone but twice and I don't sync photos as they are automatically saved in the cloud for me. doing that allows me to not have any brand loyalty to any platform and just go with what I fell I want.

But like most say to each it's own. I also came from the windows phone side as well.
