Any update on Photo app bug affecting various Galaxy phone models?

This is in regard to the problem many galaxy phones recently encountered where their stock gallery app cannot delete, edit, or share via mms photos taken after a certain date - whether they are on the sd card or internal storage (file browser works for these though.) Does anyone know if Samsung is working on a fix? I've read that a factory reboot fixes the problem, but surely with so many phones affected Samsung will address it and resolve this. Any info is appreciated.

I don't have the issue so am at a loss as to the fix. I use stock gallery app and can edit, delete and attach pics. Sorry.
