Any upgraders from Nexus 6? How do you feel about it?

I'm on the fence mostly because of missing image stabilization and inductive charging.

But the Nexus 6 has become really sluggish and the camera is near unusable (takes about 20 seconds for it to be able to take a pic/shoot video, IF it doesn't crash before doing so).

First.... the issues you are having with the Nexus 6 should be solvable....

that being said

I never used Qi, so the lack of inductive chaging is a non-starter. And not having OIS has had zero impact on my opinion of the camera. Sure, the videos might be a little less reliably stable due to EIS vs OIS, but the videos I've taken so far look good. And for stills, the 6P takes much better pictures in every situation I've come across. I used the crops below in another thread, but it is a tiny window into the improvement the 6P's camera is over the 6. I won't tell you which one is which... it should be pretty obvious.

That being said, I still think the Nexus 6 is an excellent phone. If I didn't the 6P, I'd still be using the Nexus 6, and I'd be plenty satisfied with it. But the 6P is just better.

True to what the last commenter said, came from a n6 to this also. Camera is light years better even with out ois, camera is on par with some of the best phone cams out there. N6p overall is amazing phone you won't regret it

I came from the Nexus 6 to 6p a week and a half ago. One thing I definitely noticed was how much easier the 6P was to hold one handed due to its narrowness. The Moto 6 was a Shamu of a phone. The camera is a huge jump from the 6. Images are more crisp and have much better dynamic range and exposure in low light. Wireless charging was a who-cares for me since I don't use it. OIS is a bummer but considering I don't record videos often, if at all, is a moot point. The 6P does have EIS but only in 1080p mode from what I've seen on some reviews on Youtube. Gaming-wise, I don't really do any heavy 3D intensive graphics game. I only have Monument Valley, which I'm sure this phone can handle like a knife through butter. And I also listen to podcasts and watch Youtube. SOmetimes though, I do miss the extra .25" real estate but thats not too big of a deal. On the Moto Nexus 6, I also didnt have problems with it stuttering or lagging, even with Nova Launcher installed. Plus, the fingerprint reader on the 6P is way cool. Place finger and its unlocked. On the Moto 6, since I use Android Pay, REQUIRES a PIN code to unlock. Such a PITA if i only wanna send a text or do anything beyond the lockscreen. It used to be that when you opened the app itself that it requires a PIN, which makes sense. And i even tried to disable Android Pay on the Moto 6---doing so will wipe all card info and you'd have to re-enter all the info if you want to use wireless payment. All in all, I'm super happy with the 6P.

Any others? I've only had my Nexus 6 since April, but I'm starting to itch for the 6P. Struggling to justify the extra cost though!

I wish the screen was bigger. That's my only gripe so far. Everything is better on the 6P, camera, battery life, reception. The 6 was a good phone, but this is a great upgrade from the 6.

Go for it man! Soooo worth it. Nice, solid, cold metal feel when you wake up. Fast fingerprint scanning and for my uses, it doesn't even overheat *but then again, i don't play games. Actually the only game i have is Monument Valley and no issues with heat at all on that one.* The camera is light years ahead of the Moto N6's. Dual speaker quality is equal to N6.

I am using the N6 and wouldn't mind trading it for the 6p, which seems like a fantastic device. However my N6 is still very capable and I'd rather wait and see what the next generation of phablet from google can bring, if only for the snapdragon 820. If I am not satisfied with the 2016 N6, or if there is no phablet offering from google, I'm sure I can snap a 6p at a decent price and it will still be a great phone.

Hi!
Have a similar question. Thinking about buying either a nexus 6 or nexus 6p to use as a small tablet and backup/second phone. Would use it for listening to music, e-reader, browse the web, etc.

Maybe the bigger screen of the nexus 6 would better serve my needs? But screen quality seems better on nexus 6p. Is the music quality with headphones better on one or the other?

Any thoughts to help me choose between the two?

Thanks!
