Any way to completely disable Bixby??

Apologies if this has been covered before.

I'm finding that there are numerous times where Bixby is suggesting phrases and words when I type in various forms of chat, or typing in email. It's very intrusive, and takes up important screen space (without a means of 'clicking x to remove option'.

I recall reading a review a few months back stating there was no way to fully disable Bixby, any idea how to alt least disable these automated intrusions?

I installed BK Package Disabler at the suggestion of someone here on the forums. Paid the $2 and couldn't be happier with it as it allows you to completely disable Bixby and even remapping the button as well. I just left my button dead. I also used the app to disable a bunch of bloatware that had no disable or uninstall options. The app doesn't require root, either.

There is a thread here about all of this- just do a search.

I bought it to, but I actually like Bixby. Got rid of a lot of bloatware though.

Did you reboot your phone after the remap? I didn't try to remap mine, just about did but decided I didn't want any other app accidentally opening either, using up my battery without me knowing about it until I pull my phone out again.

Yes, tried rebooting and several other things. Nothing.

Bixby Button Remapper worked for me, but I uninstalled it after BK app.

you can just swipe out , activate Bixby home, go to that app, disable everything, and then disable Bixby button. after that is done, disable Bixby home, and you're done

I disabled Bixby & remapped the button. I Hated the idea of having a dead button... I paid for the Pro Version and used my laptop for quick easy setup! Now I single press for Flashlight (No Lag) & long press for Screen Capture. Best couple bucks I've ever spent...

Absolutely you can! I've heard that Bixby is not a very fun feature for a lot of Samsung users!

for me Bixby is just like everyone setting up their own app store. a great idea in the moment, but the only one that keeps your purchases device to device is Play. Sammy and Lenovo both delete apps or remove permissions to some of their offerings over time that are associated with specific devices. made that mistake with Lenovo. never again. So Ok Google is the equivalent of Google Play, in that regard, and if you have it, another one by another party on the same device is overkill and dumb. imo. waste of space and a button.

and I'd much rather have a dead button than one that activates accidentally all the time. very annoying.

Can anyone confirm that you can use the verbal voice command (cheese) to take a picture after disabling Bixby with the BK app? I have disabled every one of the Bixby packages and keep getting the popup that states verbal commands cannot be used when Bixby voice is enabled.

I use "Capture" but confirmed that it does work with Bixby disabled. But you have to have the option enabled in the camera settings.

I have the option checked then I try the camera and it rechecks itself every time. I'll try another word besides cheese.

Are you on Verizon, like me? Maybe it's a Verizon thing...

Anyone else out there on Verizon that was able to get the button re-mapping to take on the BK Disabler? Still nothing from the devs...

I just tried it again and got the Bixby wake up voice message again. This sucks. I use that feature all the time.

Update: I searched the disabler package again and way, way down the list is Bixby voice wake up, checked that, rebooted and now it works. Sheesh!

OMG, Iam having such FUN with Bixby! Did you know she raps? I've taught her the names of my dogs, how to turn my wi fi on and off, set alarms....
