This kind of sucks to not have call duration shown in call log. Is it hidden somewhere, or is it just not present by default??

Wow. Does anyone also else feel this info should be accessible in little more easy and simpler way :-\. Well, at least there is one way it is accessible.

I'm with you. I'd like it in the list/log rather than buried 4 layers deeper.

I just noticed that you can get your information faster by tapping Logs; Menu; Call Duration.

The challenge is that this method will only give you the detail call duration of your LAST call.

The other stats are of the total minutes/seconds of dialed calls, received calls, and all calls.

Well, if you go directly to the contact, then you can save a couple of taps getting to the History. But I agree ... the log entry seems like the obvious place to display this instead of down in the Contact History.

Yea. Seems like it should be a little easier to get to than it is, but since I only ever need to view that info. once in a blue moon it's not that big a deal.

i still have no answer to how to find the call duration on a Samsung Galaxy SII can anyone help me out please

I replaced the sorry excuse for a dialer that Samsung shipped with our phones with Touch Pal dialer. It works great, it's free, and it works the way a dialer should :-)
Call logs are easy, the recent calls are listed just above the touch pad and you can click an arrow next to each name to display a log specific to that person.

I came here looking for the same thing for my S3 on Sprint. No duration anywhere with the suggestions given. So figured why not check the app store... just installed an app and have more than I need, can now track calls & time by caller. Check out My Call Duration or any others in the app store...

go to the contacts list and open the contact for which u need to see the call duration. then tap the menu button and select histoty.it should show u all the call durations with date for that particular contact

I don't know what I am missing but this process doesn't work on Epic4gT with GB27/Android 4.1.2

Most recommendations do not work with Android 4.0.4, Samsung SII 4G.

What does work is the original post about tapping on "View Contact". The problem with this is that it does not work if the phone log does not list this person as a contact, i.e., if you haven't put this person into your contacts.

The entire process seems to be a rather big step backward since the old non-"smart" phones automatically showed this info., and of course Blackberry always showed the info.

My husband & I have the S4. When I follow this on his phone the history option is there. However on mine after I select menu option edit is the first option , history isn't a option. Can anyone help me figure out how to restore the history option?

Its very easy in kitkat version.

Press "phone symbol"
Go to "logs" on left bottom with clock symbol
touch CENTER of any call you have made. Dont touch face icon or phone icon.
it opens "call details" there you would see call duration of each and every call.
