any way to restore applications with data on a new phone?

So I bought this really nice Xiaomi 15T Pro and I really hope to be able to transfer applications with their data from my current Galaxy S23. So I went through the initial Xiaomi setup. It offered me to transfer data form the old phone Xiaomi / Android or iPhone, so I chose Android, selected a bunch of apps from the list (not all of course), but after it all finished I got the apps but they were all new and needed login and setup! So I googled and it seems this way does not transfer apps data. I remember that many years ago I WAS able to restore my apps with data after I logged in with google account on my new phone and there was some wizard for that. So I performed factory reset of this new phone again and next time I skipped the Xiaomi offered data transfer and instead logged in with google and there it was. It looked promising and installation of apps took like 5 times longer then before, so I supposed it is restoring the data as well... But no! All the apps require to be setup again, so no this did not work either. I have also tried this Mi Mover app and neither this works. Is this only possible to do between Galaxy devices using Samsung smart switch? This is the last way I did it between Galaxy S10 and S23 and it worked. Is my google backup of Galaxy S23 somehow corrupted? When I go to google drive and click backups in top right I can see it there and it looks OK saying 129 apps backed up

The most important app is probably Microsoft Authenticator, and that stupid thing has it's own cloud backup, but when I try to restore it on the new phone it does not work because something did not happen! When disabling/enabling cloud backup of MS Authenticator on the Galaxy it also makes an error. I have reported it to Microsoft, but who knows if I ever get some answer...

UPDATE: So actually some apps DID get the settings restored! For example Crypto Price Alert remembers the currency pairs I have set. So there is a handful it seems.

Unfortunately not all apps will backup everything with its data especially those like banking apps and authentication apps usually you need to log into the authentication app with its password, I don't use Microsoft but I know with Google authenticator I just need to log in and all my codes are there ready for use.

s25+: not sure what you used for xfer but every time i've used smart switch, dating back to galaxy s3+, i've needed to login on the new phone, no different with the s25+, never lost any data!!

You have needed to login on the new phone? Not sure what you mean by that. When I used smart switch I remember it was almost flawless - meaning applications carried over to the new Galaxy phone WITH their settings, so I did not need to login to them.
But it seems this functionality is probably intentionally harder or almost not existent when you switch between brands, discouriging people to leave the brand. I have spend half a day already logging to websites and services to migrate authenticator accounts for 2FA, but it worked, so I am glad. Now about the rest of the apps...
