I've been wearing mine every day since November, and think it's just the perfect size. My wrist is 6.5" wide and it looks like a bangle.
I bought mine so I could go running without my phone, and still be able to call for help plus be available and connected. The fact that it also tracks my runs, sleep, steps, etc. made this purchase a no-brainer for me. I read the announcement on engadget and started hunting down availability in my area right away
I always used to think smartwatches were a solution looking for a problem, and never owned one before the Gear S. The only thing that makes me mad is Samsung's way of throwing something on the market then forgetting about it. I'd love it if they could improve usability and add more incentives for devs to create apps. If they could at least ADVERTISE that they have this watch on the market, which would get more sales, which in turn would get more developer interest ... But all they do about this watch is a big fat nothing.
I still love mine, but I would love it more with more apps.
To me, it's the perfect device for active, healthy people, but all they advertised it with were unhealthy looking models when it first came out. Instead of promoting the usefulness of its features, GPS, HR, etc, they advertised its coolness factor on the wrist of some (I guess) fashionable person.
In contrast, Apple showcased Christy Turlington training for a marathon (with a fannypack to carry her iPhone, since the Apple watch does next to nothing on its own) ... I saw the Apple announcement and just wanted to scream at the Samsung marketing team.
Lemme get off my soapbox now....
Anyhow, do you wear yours every day? Everybody who catches a glimpse of mine on my wrist says it looks super cool, and mine does not even have motion control on: the screen remains black until I press the button.
