Any women Gear S owners?

I wear mine off and on. I do like it but sometimes it gets annoying. There are times also when I can't get the heart rate app to work. I have a tattoo that looks like a bracelet on that wrist so I'm not sure if that interferes.

I plan on getting another watch or two of some other brands to soon too.

I still love mine, but I would love it more with more apps.

To me, it's the perfect device for active, healthy people, but all they advertised it with were unhealthy looking models when it first came out. Instead of promoting the usefulness of its features, GPS, HR, etc, they advertised its coolness factor on the wrist of some (I guess) fashionable person.

In contrast, Apple showcased Christy Turlington training for a marathon (with a fannypack to carry her iPhone, since the Apple watch does next to nothing on its own) ... I saw the Apple announcement and just wanted to scream at the Samsung marketing team.

Lemme get off my soapbox now....

Anyhow, do you wear yours every day? Everybody who catches a glimpse of mine on my wrist says it looks super cool, and mine does not even have motion control on: the screen remains black until I press the button.

Hahahaha....
This is not a gear fit.. I think you're focusing on S Health and thinking that the purpose of the watch revolves around that ONE app. There is much more to the watch than that. Overall it is marketed towards a very tech minded demographic... (and that includes the fat techies.. hahaha,,,)
I agree though that it would be great if Samsung provided more back end support and development of the product... But think about how big Samsung is in terms of it's technological footprint in the marketplace... Far to big to concentrate extended efforts on any one product I think.. If we're lucky we may see an occasional firmware update here or there when real problems are uncovered but I think that's about all we can hope for. But no worries... the next iteration of the Gear is no doubt right around the corner.
Until then... wear it proud!!

So, are there any women out there who own a gear s and actually wear it? Do you still like it? I have one and love the capabilities...it's just so...big. I know big watches are in style right now, but this one really is large. Is it too large for a woman? Do you men think it looks dumb on a woman?
I especially like the gear s because if I am ever attacked, I think I have a better chance of getting help using my watch than my phone. Any opinions or thoughts from men or women are greatly appreciated!

There's a LOT of female owners out there. And from their posts they seem to really like the way it looks on their wrists. In fact that seems to be one of the deciding factors in their choice.

There are more bands out now too with a different buckle and colors on eBay & Amazon $18-20; Tangerine, Orange, Pink, Red Rose, Teal, Navy, Light Blue, Polka (white dots on black) & Slate (a bluish grey I believe) & Lilac. Then you have the OEM ones; Royal Blue, Red, Mocha & White.

Has anyone tried to put the pretty Samsung buckle on one of the afterbrand bands?

No I don't think that would work the holes are different and there is already a buckle on the aftermarket band that would get in the way... How would one attach the end without the holes if that wasn't the case?

I actually like the regular closure but that's just me.

Yeah, after further inspection of the original clasp, there is no way to attach it to something else. I like the Sammy clasp...

I am just looking to move to the Gear S from the Gear 2 Neo. I have one question - does it matter if you pick the black or white version when it comes to changing the straps? The front faces look the same? So is it just the back colour and how visible is that with a different strap? My (UK) phone network provider only stocks the black one and while I would tend to prefer the white, I can get a good deal from them...so I was thinking to just get it and swap over to a different strap... Any advice appreciated!!

It doesn't matter really there are pics in the band threads that show pics with bands the opposite color. To me I think with sweat dirt etc black is the way to go. I clean mine a lot but in mind I wanted black from day one. The fronts are the same.

Ladies ... Was wondering if anyone knew if this watch can be used as a trusted device for Smart Lock?
