Anybody compare the GG to the Pebble?

I get 2 to 3 days with heavy usage on my gear. I use it for bluetooth and plenty of notifications. With a full color screen, I dont think I can expect more from a watch. If the screen was black and white, then it would be different. The ability to sideload apps and full functionality is a big bonus.

I charge every night except Saturday. I go Saturday and Sunday on one charge with no problems.

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

I work 12 hour shifts and pretty much use the gear for notifications and text messages, when the day is done I have around 30 percent charge! Maybe the people that complain are using this watch every second or something because with the updated version the battery is even better!

I owned a Pebble and found it very handy (in a low tech kind of way unfortunately). It's great for notifications but really that's about it. The GG (since the OTA updates) is NOW comparable to the Pebble in handling notifications and it's also stylish, answers voice calls, can send text messages, has a pedometer installed and is great with mp3s. For the life of me where these battery complaints come from i don't know because last night was the first time my battery was below 50%. Are you people sleeping with your GGs and if so why??? Charging at night is the least of my worries. BOTTOM LINE: The Pebble is good but the GG is great.

Or maybe they never had one and are going by what certain reviews or other people that didn't like it are saying. 😞

I really don't get this. Is charging it once a day really so difficult? I mean, I know it's a lot of effort to slide it off your wrist, place it in the guy, and insert the plug into an outlet. You're charging your phone every night anyway, right?

Maybe I'm the only one who has figured out you can just pop it on the charger at night while you're sleeping, you know, just like you do with your phone. I should probably share this in the tips and tricks thread.

I couldn't agree more. I plug in my phone and tablet every night before I go to bed so whats one more thing.
I am just baffled when people bring up battery life. It runs all day for me, from early morning to when I go to bed.
That's all I really care about.

As long as I don't have to put it on the charger before the day is over I'm fine.

I agree! 👍😃

Had the Pebble for a couple of weeks. My biggest issue was I couldn't read the small fonts, especially in low light situations. I barely need reading glasses so this shouldn't be an issue.
The build quality was terrible. Besides those issues, it did pretty much what it promised to do.

Purchased a GG and I'm extremely satisfied. Handles notifications from all different sources (personal and corporate applications) very well. Brightness is typically set to 2 (almost lowest level) with the ability to bump up the brightness when in direct sunlight. Zero issues with screen brightness in all conditions. Battery life is not a factor. Typically around 50% at the end of the day. The charging cradle could have been better designed. I have a wireless charging pad for the Note 3 - should be one available for the GG.

Answering calls, you don't have to hold your wrist up to your mouth. Holding the steering wheel, is close enough.

I also have problems reading the font on my Pebble in low light. It also does not keep a copy of your messages in memory. After reading a message and going back to the watch face, the message is cleared. You'll have to replace the stock notification app with a 3rd party one if you wish to have this feature. The Gear keeps a copy of all messages if you wish to go back and read them later. The Pebble vibrates stronger than the Gear. You won't miss any notifications wearing the Pebble. Pebble has a longer Bluetooth range than the Gear. I do like how the Gear will notify you when you loose your Bluetooth connection. Don't have to worry about leaving your phone behind. Pebble is comfortable to wear for extended in comparison to the Gear.

If I was going to get one today, I would definitely go for the GG!
