Anybody else have a loud G4?

Mine was the same way until I got the update from Verizon on Friday. Now it's about the same levels as was on my G2.

The speaker phones are very loud (more than any phone I've owned) which allows me to watch my Google videos without a headphone. The in-call volume is more than sufficient as well. Great phone.

I wanted to get quick updates and also wanted to try stock (or well close enough) Android since I never have. I've always used a skin version like Samsung, HTC, LG, etc.

I must be the only person I know who actually likes the different skins. I had a stock Android phone once and didn't really care for it. Yes, you get quick updates and maybe it even runs better but I'm one of the few who likes some of those little extras you get from LG, HTC, Samsung, etc.. although they could tone it down some (especially Samsung)

Oh I never said I hated them ;). I just have always used Android on a "skinned" version and have never tried stock / quick updates -- so I decided to try out Moto :).

I tried a aosp rom once on my S3 and boy was that boring!! I'm not sure if the current aosp is better but if it's anything like that experience was, I know I would prefer skinned Android.

I was very surprised by the loudness of the volume. Great for music, but notifications even on the lowest volume are still pretty dang loud.
I had to make a special sound profile for work since I really don't want my co-workers to hear every single one of my notifications. :)

EDIT:
After a factory reset the volume seems to be quieter than before. Not sure if I like that or not!

Same here, I have the volume notifications down to 1/3, at full volume it can be disorienting when it kicks off.

Mine was always loud just like my G3 but there is a sound mod for rooted G4's and I must say, I now have to turn the volume down.
I used to have it all the way up all the time but with the sound mod it made a big difference in all sound samples.

I've gone back to my old Nexus 5 now, and I must say I pretty much prefer the levels of sound on the Nexus 5 over the G4's. I know it seems crazy, but I need to be able to have a very quiet notification that is sound (not solo vibration) for a good portion of my day/night.

The G4 on the absolute quietest setting is insanely loud, unfortunately for my specific needs. In this case, the Nexus 5 wins for me.

Well, the G4's speaker is crazy loud.

I set my notifications to full-volume once and I swear, the phone scared the living crap out of me whenever I get a notification.

One time on campus, I forgot to set my phone to silent and when I got a e-mail, the phone just went "DING!" and the whole class was jumped by the sheer loudness of it.

If you use your G4 again, try using some softer/lower input tones if you have them. I'm using some myself because the higher input tones are just too much with the G4 speaker. I think LG might of over amplified the speakers input a hair....lol.

I received my Verizon LG G4 yesterday. Boy, this thing is LOUD. (compared side-by-side with my other phones, Note 4, Note 5, and S6) Although it isn't as loud as the first-gen prepaid Moto G that I have.
