Anybody find any bugs in the new Gingerbread RUU yet?

But the only advantage of this update is battery life? Seems like more problems than solutions.

I use Active Sync for my Gmail mail account. This exact same Active Sync bug was/is also an issue with Froyo (at least on the TBolt). The first thing I did when I noticed it was to Un-check the Active Sync Calendar sync and Check only the Google Calendar sync. Since then I've had no issues. Active Sync still syncs my Contacts and Gmail just fine.

As far as the always-on icon on the Google items, it's normal and by design. Just different than Active Sync, that's all. As long as you get no errors it's syncing.

On froyo I didn't have an issue with the corporate calendar push syncing.

Not really... many of us are really digging to find bugs to warn future adopters. Not all of the things in this thread are necessarily bugs with the leaked GB update, however I would say its safer to assume the worst.

I have found only extremely minor bugs, that at worst are aesthetic. That is, of course, only my experience.

Benefits to GB include streaming video chat with GTalk and Skype (I have done both), a new app drawer, and Sense 2.1. Sense 2.1 is the version I believe required for HTCSense.com support.

I'm not so pretty that I need people looking at me while I talk to them. I understand skype seems to be the holy grail to many. I just don't get it. The rest is just fluff that aren't worth problems pushing my corporate calender. If gb made my tb faster and LESS buggy I might be more enthusiastic. Even addition of minor inconveniences is a step in the wrong direction.
I guess the only thing that would get me jumping for joy is 100% bugless unlocked vanilla droid with lte (without rooting)

I have one bug that maybe someone can help me fix, everytime I goto the internet or use the data, the screen pops up asking if I wanna use WiFi, I tell it no, but it keeps coming back up. Anyone have a fix without turning WiFi completely off?

Thanks

I'm not seeing most of the bugs that some are reporting. No wifi issue at all, voicemail notifications are working, gps links fast and accurately. I don't do videos but the OP is reporting that mp4's on his TB are working just fine with the standard app.

Even in the rooted stuff, custom roms etc. you see various reports like these, that some stuff is working fine for most but a few are having issues. Its somewhere between hard to impossible to know if its just that the person had a bad download, install, or has compatiblity issues.

I put this on top of my Das Bamf rom because I needed to get rid of root and get ready to move back to stock when VZW finally puts out the final RUU, and in the one day that I've been using this ruu I'm not seeing any issues. That's my experience and it may not be that way for others.

That's one of the bugs some are experiencing. Some are also experiencing random reboots! At least according to this thread [RUU] [Leak] 2.07.605.0.

Chingy (who posted the leaked build), has apparently had to find a new hosting server for his website (theMikMik - The Front Page) where the original thread (located here [RUU] [Leak] 2.07.605.0 Official Gingerbread for the TBOLT - Blogs - theMikMik) says, "Note: This is not the Final Gingerbread Build VZW Will be pushing out but it is and OFFICIAL Build (Not a test build like the previous one we were using)". As such, it should be expected that there are gonna be some bugs. :)

By default its set to automatically connect to wifi even if its off go into wifi settings then hit menu then uncheck that box and you'll be good to go.

Do you think the ThunderBolt will be added to HTCSense support after this update?

-Frank

I sure hope so... regardless of whether the official OTA ends up miraculously with Sense 3.0+ (which is extremely doubtful), I think the Thunderbolt will get HTCSense.com support.

Please note that is complete conjecture.

I've had some ghosting in notification bar, mostly Skype. The oddest was a Skype missed call.... while I was talking face to face with them. Their laptop wasn't even on. Happen twice... I'm not blaming that on upgrade, just Skype. Haven't found anything else in two days. Battery life is at least as good as before, haven't given it a real torture test yet. Might even be improved, but it's not a step backwards. Mostly I have issues with apps that aren't compatible with GB... not the RUU fault. I'm very happy with it right now.

Which apps?

MLB at Bat 11
Skype Mobile on Verizon (normal Skype does)
5 August update of ScoreMobile (older works) sent dev an email as error was "package not properly signed"
Some soundboards I had used aren't visible in market (they were the free so no purchase record and I suffer from CRS)
UNO

those are the ones I've found so far.... use to have apps on all seven home pages with a few open spots... now I have two completely open and open spots on the others....

Oh no. I can't live without my MLB at bat 11. Guess I will not be loading g this RUU. Unless someone has figured out how to get it to load? Maybe? Somebody?

I just found something that is pretty important. The dialer was using a large potion of my battery, so I googled it and found that assisted dialing could be the cause (it was turned on after the update). So I have turned it off and will let you guys know if the problem continues.
