Anybody get a problem free display?

Slight blue tint, only at extreme angles, not really an issue. Not seeing ghosting or any of the other types of issues. I'll be watching for image retention/burn-in, but I suspect those claims are overblown (although I'm sure they exist for a subset of people)... If it becomes an issue, I'll keep RMAing it until I get one I'm happy with...

Overall, very happy with the screen and the phone. A major upgrade from my Nexus 5X.

So far mine seems fine. It does the tint around 45 degrees or more -- not an issue since I don't look at my phone from 45 degrees or more.

The color saturation? I came from an S8+ that I had since release. Yes the colors are more dull but I understand they didn't want to go to the levels of saturation that Samsung does. All in all if they want to do that they can with a simple software fix since the saturation issue is software driven.

The blue tint is hardware and will be there no matter what they do on my device but as I said.. for me .. I don't view my phone at 45 degrees or more so I am not bothered by it.

No issues for me (yet) on my 2 XL. That being said, I hardly ever notice the "blue color shift on tilt" thing; I really feel like I need to be looking for it to really notice it. As far as the color gamut of the screen, I already adjusted myself to the panel and am perfectly happy with it. I remember all of the complaints when screens started coming out with the high saturation, so this feels like to me an issue of personal preference.

The screen is definitely brighter, especially outdoors, than the 2016 XL. And the screen doesn't dim whatsoever when viewing through polarized sunglasses.

Overall, I'm very happy with the panel. But I will be on the lookout for burn-in.

To everyone: When did you get your Pixel 2XL? Did you just order it and it came this week, or did you get it on the first week. Just want to see if the second week batch is better than the first and if the varying degrees of blue tint and other hardware issues may have been reduced.

I got the blue tint. I could see the image retention or burn in, whatever it is, when I did the Android Central test but that does not affect the normal use. So, I should say, there are some issues but not problematic for me. I am not bothered at all. I love the camera. I love how fluid and smooth everything is. Vanilla Android... Not too many bells and whistles. Just the way I like it.

I just ordered this week. XL 128. It will be here tomorrow so I'll let you know. I have a feeling that the blue tint is just the way it is though. Doesn't bother me.

Is there anyway you could post a video going around it showing it on a white screen at angles? Mine has a really bad blue tint problem but that's the only problem so far. It's more annoying than I thought it would be and if they've fixed it on newer deliveries I'd definitely go through the exchange process if it meant I could get one without the blue shift.

I'll see what I can do

I was at VZW at Burlington Mall today. Demo model never shuts off but zero burn in. Everything crisp despite insufferable demo mode. I looked carefully for sign of burn in. Nothing and it runs 24/7. I asked and they've had no returns. A clown came over and said he was Google Specialist and he knew absolutely nothing. He was a disappointment but the phone worked great. Granted I don't have my own but that store phone seemed great

Oh it does shift blue at an angle but that didn't bother me.

Ordered on the 4th, Got it on the 24th.

I am quite excited. I played with a demo phone in the shop today and went home to preorder it. Isn't released in UK yet. Will get mine Nov 15th

No problems at all. I can see the blue shift only when tilting the screen, but who cares, not noticeable when actually using it at realistic angles. I prefer this screen to my S7edge when I have them side by side. Much sharper.

I just received my XL 2 last night. Sat in bed all night setting it up and playing with it. I really like it.

I can't find any evidence of the display "grittiness" issue at all, even with the brightness turned way down. From screenshots I'd seen of it, and statements that they supposedly all do it with brightness turned down, I'd been fearing that the most.

The "washed out" hue doesn't bother me, and I didn't think it would, as I hate saturated displays and keep sRGB mode turned on on my 6P.

The blue tint is a bit worse than I was expecting. I didn't think it would bother me, but I have to admit that it does a bit. But not enough to cause buyer's remorse.

As for 'burn in', it's not even been 24 hours, so can't say.

So I just got mine this morning. There is a slight blue shift at angles I would never use the phone at. I did notice holding it up with my iPhone 7 Plus that the iPhone screen shifted at the same angles as the Pixel... the difference, the Pixel shifts blue, the iPhone shifts to a gray/dim look. Same effect though making the screen less bright so it's a big nothingburger for me.

I'm showing early signs of burn-in. Going to do a compare with the Pixel 2 (non-XL) and decide.

Got mine today. I have the blue shift and it is more annoying than I anticipated. What level of angle is everyone noticing the change? Mine changes at a very minor angle shift. I pretty much have to looking straight on to not see it. The slightest angle change causes the shift.

I can see the blue tint if I specifically look for it, I literally could not care less about it. It is not an issue for me at all.

I have looked daily to see if my scree develops the image retention, so far it has not.

Mine changes at a pretty minor angle too, but I almost never notice it now. In the first hour of owning it, I noticed it way more than any time since (because I looked for it obviously). During normal phone use, I pretty much don't see it now.

No problems here. I keep at 40% to 50% brightness to reduce eyestrain, and at that setting the blue shift is not very severe at all. I have seen no uneven splotches or grain at very low brightness, nor do I have even a hint of burn in/image retention. I do think the sRGB tuning is the right decision, but requires some adjustments, as the reds are not up to the standard without vivid mode toggled on. The default gamma also seems little higher than necessary, crushing blacks. I hope Google does issue a patch with a better sRGB tuning, and a set of other settings that will stop the ********.
