Anybody Have 4.4 OTA?

We don't even have the old new update yet!

Well maybe the OTA was halted because they had some bugs that needed addressing first? That's the logical explanation at this point I think...lets see if people start actually getting the OTA now, fingers crossed.

Sideloaded the original 4.4, got the bugfix OTA last night. Check location settings, now shows usage by app.

Why is it taking so long to get kitkat ota, seen there's an update to 4.4 and I haven't even got either one..I don't think its for tablets anyway

Anybody? Did Google stop the OTA?

Per this post on Android Police yesterday, that's exactly what happened...the update was pulled while the bug fixes were addressed. OTAs should be rolling out again now.

For those who still don't have it and are running stock OS on their Nexus 10, it's quite easy to manually install it. No, it's not quite as easy as installing the OTA, but if you're tired of waiting, it really is something to consider. NOTE: You do NOT have to be rooted to do this. It is NOT hacking or jailbreaking nor is there anything shady about it...it is simply the procedure for applying the update manually.

A pretty good write-up on the procedure is here:
How to manually update your Nexus tablet to KitKat [updated] | Android Central

Once that's done, you may want to also sideload the 2nd bug fix update, KRT16S (download), but chances are it you'll get that OTA fairly quickly once you've installed KRT16O, so you may just want to wait.

Not trying to suggest anyone do anything they are not comfortable with, just putting this out there for those that are frustrated with waiting.

Finally got my ota!! Here in Phoenix.

I really don't mid the lack of a tablet ui for the settings page, tablet responsiveness and performance seems to be greatly improved in the 10 minutes that I've been playing with it. Hopefully this will translate into improved battery life. Overall I'm pretty happy with the update. I'd expect s future update to add a dedicated tablet ui.

While I haven't been incredibly impressed with the update itself, I will say that my battery performance, primarily standby battery life, has improved quite a bit. I'm not sure whether I can credit that to the update or the fact that I did a full wipe when I installed it (probably a little of both), but I am happy about that none the less.

Finally downloading KITKAT on my Nexus 10!!! Got it by doing Google Services Framework trick about three times! I'll let you guys know my experience!

Guys what exactly is GEL? Somewhere along the way I missed that...

GEL=Google Experience Launcher. It is typical default Nexus 5 Kikkat home screen. GEL includes transparent notification and action bar. Transparent app drawer. Bigger app icons. Swype left to access Google Now. And say "Ok Google" to access Google Now from the home screen. Etc. You get the idea.

When I got home from work today and turned on my N10, it had already downloaded the update and was waiting to be told to install it! Installed just fine. Hate the settings screen- don't know much else yet.
