Anybody not getting the Ultra?

I really wish that the 22+ had the S-Pen, but I really like the size of the 22. The 22 Ultra is just too big for my small hands. If I make the jump, I would be trading in my Note 10 (the small one) and keeping my Note 20 5G. I wish I could afford to keep my Note 10, though. The size is perfect! Anybody making the move and NOT getting the Ultra?

No expandable storage is a no for me. I travel and have limited bandwidth when out of the country so rely on my microsd.

The S22Ultra is 1699 Euro for the 1tb version here and Samsung only offers 490 Euro trade in on the Note20 Ultra.
I think I'll be waiting to see what the Z Fold 4 has to offer instead.

No S22U for me. Waiting for the fold 4. If they get rid of the under screen camera then I'll get another fold 3 for back up. That under screen camera is the bomb for me. If the 22U had under screen camera I might have gotten one for backup.

Well yeah, that's another option to wait for the fold. I think that's the direction Samsung is headed!.

Yeah but they're never ever going back to expended on memory ever ever ever.

Best bet to go ahead and grab you a 512 GB and then use that as a bargaining ship for a 1 TB or get you an SSC 2 storage 2 terabyte SSC storage carrry around in your wallet.

unless you went down agree to a phone like an a42 unless one plus decides they want to add a Sim card slot and they ain't even trying to do it they haven't really ever do it.
so hold on to your note 20 as long as you can I love the new 20 Ultra but it's time for me to move on I wasn't but I ordered my 512 GB phantom black and I'll hold out for a couple years with that, use it as a bargaining chip and by that time I'll be rolling in a terabyte Samsung s20 it 30 whatever, 🙏

Yeah I had a long discussion with an engineer off the record and the SD card slot takes up battery space and the object is to increase battery space, they don't care whether you need an SD card slot so that's the direction they're going. cameras they want to make the cameras better, what takes up space, SD card slot, so you make the cameras better you give the phones more space and in the end you give up stuff like two kidneys and your gallbladder.

I was in the store the other day with the s22 ultra I really like to feel I was impressed with the feel so I'm going to go ahead and make that move I got to do something for my wife though she doesn't want to s22 Ultra but she might want 22 plus.
We still see sorry about the rant.
It's a sad thing you going to go down and quality in a phone and get SD card storage you can pay up $150 and get SD card storage less than that and get SD card storage it just makes me laugh but I love the quality of that picture I took myself in the store that ought to become late the store major attraction the ladies said I look good

so hold on to your note 20 Ultra as long as you can I love the new 20 Ultra but I'm sitting on 128 GB and climbing. But it's time for me to move on I wasn't but I ordered my 512 GB phantom black and I'll hold out for a couple years with that new Samsung phone, use it as a bargaining chip and by that time I'll be rolling in a terabyte Samsung s20 or 30 whatever, 🙏

The object is to make yourself happy if you're happy with the s20 ultra hang in there with it enjoy it it's a beautiful film I had nothing wrong with it I just had 128 GB version and with my children popping children out left and right SD cards were all over the place.

When the time is right I'll drop off in the 2 T storage or the 1 terabyte SSD storage.
It all works out in the end. I had four people in front of me checking out the s22 ultra and they act like nobody else was behind us so I asked excuse me, we all would like to have other stuff to do other than wait on you, do you mind like moving along?
Give me a nasty lookig but I wasn't trying to be smart. Respect

And he will was really sincere there's no more SD card slot coming back to Samsung let's face it guys

I will disagree on a portion of this. The reason a "engineer" said no SD card to make room for bigger batteries is not the reason, it's the reason they give us. Ask yourself this question, are the batteries bigger after removing SD card and 3.5 audio jack? I don't think they are, we've seen 5,000 MAH batteries before.

My opinion these items are gone is this.. Samsung can make more money. They can charge for memory upgrades. When they dropped the 3.5 audio jack, what did they introduce.. Bluetooth earbuds. They took a play right out of apples playbook, how to up sell and make more money. As someone said, Samsung really has no competition in Android.

Just my opinion, no "engineer" told me this.

keeping my Note 20 ultra 512gb with 200gb card... Snapdragon version... would have happily brought S22 ultra if they had sd card slot... now will wait for fold 4...lets see what it offers....

I think my answer is... eventually :).

I'm not in a rush but it's good to know as my phone is getting closer to be 2 years old there is a Note 20 Ultra successor and looks to be a worthy model so as my phone gets older and look towards a replacement and if by end of year we find out there is not an S(Note)23 Ultra with S-Pen, and I don't see any other interesting phone, then I can snatch up a S22U next January and run with that the next few years.

My Note 20 Ultra is running so good as the first day and still having fun with it (luckily after my dealing with "Black Screen of Death" and basically getting a completely overhauled phone with new display assembly and battery and back glass) I honestly could be happy with it through year 3.

The N20U is no slouch a year and a half later. For what these things retail for it better be! :)

But I am interested in the camera update over the N20U and been enjoying and even using the zoom a lot traveling and taking pics near and far like when I was in Maine and did a lot of sightseeing. And the upgrade is a bit more significant than maybe over having an S21U along with bigger battery and 2nd gen FPS. I can get corporate pricing on these things so it would only cost me a couple of hundred out of pocket to upgrade after all is done but if I do then I definitely won't go S23U if there is one and that one can have maybe the 200 megapixel sensor and even better photo quality. For $200 out pocket, for me it's worth it. Any more, I'd def wait.

Sigh, first world problems lol.

Looking forward to seeing the reviews and owners on this forums impressions when they get it... see if any issues like overheating or if any camera issues and go from there.

Have to agree with the posts on here. Have cancelled my S22 Ultra after reading some negatives online.

I don't have the Note 20 Ultra, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't upgrade. What are we really getting for upgrading? an extra 500 Mah in battery? If anything, the S22U IMO seems like a downgrade.

It seems I'm not the only one who cares that much about SD card support. I don't care what anybody's argument is about the SD cards going away. Yeah, they probably won't ever come back, but until then, you can always use an older device that has it like the Note 20 Ultra. Problem solved. I don't want to use cloud storage, get an external drive whatever, or anything else like that. Nothing easier than just having your files right on your phone.

I used a Oneplus device awhile back that obviously didn't have SD card support and it was such a pain in the rear because once my memory was all filled up, I had to clean up my pictures. With an SD card slot, you don't gotta worry about that really and I take tons of pics/videos of my son.

22 ultra is an amazing device. Get 512 and skip messing around with sd cards. I used to think they were a big deal, but like removable batteries, time to move on.

The note 20 ultra is a pretty amazing device too. How much more amazing do I need?

512 is marginal for what I need. Could you tell me how much even more will cost? Keep in mind that my current SD card is already paid for, now free and has a 10-year warranty.

I do not see a single compelling reason to upgrade to the 22. The only important thing that happens is that I lose something I really want.

One day, even if I go through with my threat to buy a backup note 20 ultra, I will be forced to upgrade because of some innovation like 6G or whatever. But that day is quite a ways from now. I literally see no reason to upgrade.

Not going anywhere either. Zero excitement for me about the 22's. And losing the SD card would be a big step backwards as I spend a lot of time outside of cellular/wifi coverage. Samsung makes a good phone. But when the time comes that my N20U gets replaced, I will look around for something with an SD card.
