I was going to upgrade to the Note 7 to lock in 2 yr UDP but stopped when there was no option for unlimited HOTSPOT. Anyone able to upgrade and keep UNLIMITED HOTSPOT? It also looks like I'd lose Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Disc on each line...

Are you paying $30 or $50 now? Upgrade via 2 Year subsidized contract or dpp?

You usually just add it on for $20 more a month.

There is NO option to add on the $30 "4G Smartphone Hotspot" that I currently have. There are all the other options such as cloud storage, voicemail, ect ect... If they do NOT offer the "4G Smartphone Hotspot" option" it's a deal breaker for me. Before check out it shows the monthly charge are without $30 "4G Smartphone Hotspot" & without "Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Discount"

I've bought my 3 phones at full retail to keep udp. Last time I did buy a phone from VZW they had the $30 "4G Smartphone Hotspot" option online .

I'm out of contract and pay $50 upd with $30 "4G Smartphone Hotspot". Also I have Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Disc. Trying to upgrade via 2 yr subsidized contract to lock in. But willing to do dpp to keep $30 "4G Smartphoe Hotspot" and it locks me in for 2 yrs. Maybe I'll check out the dpp option to see if $30 "4G Smartphone Hotspot" option populates online.

Only contemplating new phone to lock in 2 yr.

Interesting... Perhaps those who have done this can shed some light. This is a fairly new development, so not many have used it

You can add it by going to verizonwireless.com but you can't do from the Verizon app. I don't think they are allowed to remove it but they make it much more difficult to find.

Tried through my computer when doing a trial run on purchasing. No Hot spot option populated when doing upgrade.

It would be stupid of them to remove it. It's super easy to get around, they would just be losing money. Probably just a glitch.

They call it a "Product" now instead of a Feature. Makes it a lot harder to turn it on and off.

Whatever you do don't call in to a CSR to do this, VZ computers will knock you off UDP.

I just upgraded my unlimited line. Transferred the upgrade to another line. I don't not get the new phone yet but my contract date was extended. It is still giving me the option to add the unlimited Hotspot for $30 on the my Verizon app. I also have the $20 discount. It also appears to still be intact.

(I am swapping phones with someone when the new phone comes. It will not go on my account.)

Mr Toad are you doing it via VZW or BBM?

Just took a leap a faith and pulled the trigger on a Note 7 from VZW Online. I'm not a power data user. Usually under 200 gigs a month and mostly between 150-200 gigs. Once I was at 250 gigs. It looks like it allowed me to keep unlimited but there was no mention of "hotspot" yes or no. So I'll keep you all posted if you guys are interested with the results..

When I upgraded 2 of my UDPs through VZW a few weeks ago there was no mention of the hotspot. I pay for it on 2 lines. Have gotten the upgrade phones and sold them already and still using hotspot on both lines. Hotspot has always been a Feature rather than part of the plan if you are on a NW plan.

My Note 7 shipped Thursday and online it now show I'm on a 2 yr contract again. Intact are my udp, my "4G Smartphone Hotspot", and my "Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Discount". Looks like it's all good...

Glad it worked out!
