Just curious how it's working. I'll be activating mid November when I get my Stormtrooper.

Yes, I just did it on my Pixel 2 last night. It really was as easy-breezy as they said...so weird!
I turned the device on, it said "Hi there", asked if I was using Fi and if I wanted to choose SIM-less activation or still insert a SIM, and when I chose SIM-less, it basically said "k, cool, hang on a moment..." for about 10 seconds while downloading some stuff and BOOM, I was connected.

I know it's such a simple thing and people probably don't care, but I thought it was pretty damn cool.

It works fine. So well that I truly can't remember now how it went down. A green quick setup guide for Fi users, which I've misplaced, is included in the shipping box. I only recall having to respond to a screen about moving my Fi service from my Nexus 6, and after hitting OK or whatever, I immediately got a "Project Fi not fully activated" message on the N6 and my Project Fi account page popped up on the 2 XL.

Yes, me too. It seems to be working just fine.

I didn't even take the SIM out of my old Pixel XL until just a little while ago; nevertheless, my Pixel XL stopped receiving calls which were now being routed to my Pixel 2 XL.

Good point, I didn't either. Is this old Fi SIM now deemed trash and I should just toss it? Hmm.

I think you can re-activate it simply by putting it into a phone and following the prompts. Of course, doing so will deactivate the eSim in your Pixel 2.

At least, I *think* that's how it works. :)

Yeah, I suppose that would make sense. I also have a data SIM but that doesn't deactivate anything of course. So I now have a SIM-less (eSIM?) Pixel 2, a call + data SIM, and a data only SIM...haha.

just got mine today and activated on FI with no issues. I'm an iPhone user trying to switch to Android so I thought I would use my new device on fi only for a while

Super easy - Super easy to transfer over to Tmobile to get that 325 gift card too!

I have my ATT Sim in the sim slot and activated fi on the esim. I set up my ATT number to forward all calls to the fi number. With the exception of my text everything is working fine. Will be doing this until I am satisfied with the coverage.

Works great. ***** proof. Just kept my old SIM in the OG Pixel. In case I need to switch back and activate it is just a few clicks.
