eSIM vs SIM

correct, i can use eSIM and pSIM simultaneously with T-mobile in San Francisco.
Nice. I wonder if Verizon is doing that now... Must do some checking. I don't plan on getting an eSIM, but it would be nice to know.

As I said previously (maybe in a different thread), US carriers have made advances in provisioning and supporting eSIMs.

I swap phones way too much to use esim. I tried to go that route last year. Just ended up not working out to well..
If they make it easier to swap between phones easier then I'll give it another shot

I generally buy 2 or 3 flagships a year along with my daily driver SxxU.

Never had any esim issues .

Well I had nothing but issues. I'm not sure how you didn't. They always had issues clearing out the d esn

It doesn't work to constantly switch between phone and until the carriers make is a more user friendly option without having to call or messge the carrier everytime.
The EID gets hung after so many swaps. And then they end up escalating to support to get them to clear it.

The carriers will even tell you if you are swapping between phones they recommend physical sims.

right now, primary SIM = eSIM

1. i confirm i can call/text from either eSIM and SIM1 in the US.
2. also it gives me the option for 'DATA switching' - use your secondary SIM for mobile data if your primary eSIM can't connect.

that said, looks like we can use both in the US after all which is GREAT.
On T-Mobile I can't use both eSim simultaneously so it looks like one has to be a card and other eSim

Never had to call or message a carrier to swap esim.

Just delete before wiping old phone, scan qr on new phone.
Think I have done it on maybe 10 devices. Maybe more.

Lol I'm not wiping my phone Everytime I switch. I'd be doing that multiple times a week are you kidding
I'm not talking about when you get a new phone. I'm talking you have multiple phones that you switch back and forth regularly. The same phones.

Your situations are not common. The vast majority of users don't switch devices every couple of days. Nor do most users buy two or three phones a year.

Btw, eSIM worked great for my daughter while in France and Costa Rica. I got her Airalo eSIMs for both trips. It saved money and she could still use Verizon (which costs $10/day) as her back up.

So far what I've learned with eSim.

Factory reset through settings you can delete all Data except eSim there is a tiny box at the bottom of you check that it will erase the eSim.

Leave multiple eSim profile on the device especially if you switch numbers to different ones, it's easier to find the eSim profile when you have to, just turn them off.

You haven't been here long
I'm not talking about the people here. Most of them are not normal. I'm talking about the average user...you know... the rest of the world? You do realize that there is a whole world outside of these forums...right?

And, actually, yes I have been here for a long while . I was here for several years before deleting my account. I took a few years off. The thing is, nothing has changed while I was gone.
