Just curious what rom for 4.2.2 is everyone using?
I have gone from Task 650's AOKP to ParanodKangDroid to Beanstalk to The Collective. Have even tried some of the 4.1.2 TW ROMS
Just curious what rom for 4.2.2 is everyone using?
I don't have the time right now to get up to speed on rooting.
Assuming that S4 hardware is much better than S3, I'd be more inclined to whine and complain and try to get the S4.
I posted a separate question on the S4 forum asking if those folks think it's much better than S3.
Mike
EXACTLY! This is why I won't upgrade either. Just isn't that big of a deal. Have no use for quad core as my dual is good enough.
Can anyone really tell the difference anyway?
I was reading over on the ATT forums that some people complained about not getting firmware upgrades and got ATT to upgrade their phones for $100 with a 1 year contract extension.
Anyone hear of this?
What talking points should be used?
Did ATT get the S3 back or do you get to keep it.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike
It has a 2600 mah battery vs. 2100, it does last a fair bit longer. Far as power hands down the s4 eats the s3 alive. Playing with one isn't the same as spending real time with it tbh. There are multiple areas where the s4 is better, cpu, gpu, camera, sensitivity, gestures, touchwiz functionality, making every call come up private outgoing natively by switching a toggle, app 2 sd included in the newest update, ect. Get him to let you borrow it a day (if you can), you'll see. I didn't think it would be that much of a leap but was surprised honestly going back to the s3 to check it out and feeling like it was bogging down wasn't fun to experience. It's a great phone and I've used the One as well. S4 all day err day.If you can set aside 2 hours and just load CM onto your phone then that's all it takes really. Better/more powerful hardware and 1080p requires more power - sucks down the battery more. Also Touchwiz is sort of a bottleneck on how fast the Samsung phones can really be so you probably won't notice the difference unless you want that better screen. I played with a friend's GS4 and it didn't make sense for me to drop more money to move up from my GS3.

That info is very interesting to read. I had no clue there was actually that much difference between the S3 & S4 in terms of using them. I played with an S4 for a few minutes at Costco and liked it but I'm still about a year away from an early upgrade. That and the fact that I want the upgrade either for free or $29.95 with waived activation means I won't be getting an S4 anytime soon. I got my Captivate for free at Radio Shack on Black Friday & my S3 for $29.95 with waived activation from Costco on Black Friday so I won't pay anymore than that for the next upgrade.
