Anyone else bail on the pixel launcher?

One big thing when considering is that I don't think the hold to bring up options feature is functional in Nova or any other launchers. If this feature starts to get support by third party apps like force touch, it could be an issue.

I am so Smartphone stupid. What is the Pixel? Would you mind helping me out? I keep seeing Nova, Google Launcher and Pixel Launcher? HEEELLLPPP

It reminds me a lot like Google Now Launcher so I will be sticking with it :).

I saw you ask this in another thread. The Pixel is a new phone developed by Google. You can Google it and see it in all its glory.

Or if you are just jagging us, then the Pixel is going to change the way cities are made - think "Ginger" from a few years back. All hail the Pixel (and the New York Giants).

I hate that other launchers can't (fully) imitate the left swipe to Google Assistant/NOW look, but still I'm all for Nova launcher regardless of the phone that I use.

I am sticking with the Pixel Launcher for now. I miss message counts but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Word on the street is that people still using the Pixel Launcher are gonna get free high fives at Google I/O this upcoming spring.

Honestly, the Pixel Launcher is pretty amazing. I'm used to the simple nature of the Google Now Launcher but the Pixel has a lot more things going for it, like the built-in weather widget, the extra space for another app because of no app drawer icon (something I used to do with Nova Launcher, so one less reason to use it) and the pull up app drawer-- something else I also used on Nova, I just found it much better.

Action launcher supports this .. it's called 'quickcuts'... You swipe up on the app and the shortcuts pop up similar to on pixel launcher

I'm usually a heavy Nova Launcher user. I put it on every phone I get, even Nexus phones. It's a credit to the Pixel launcher that I'm still using it, and I think I may like it better than Nova right now. I liked the Google now launcher in the past, but hated the persistent google search bar across the top of the screen. With the on-screen nav buttons, the search bar robbed even more space.

I usually have a weather widget of some kind on my home screens and now that the stock launcher has it, I like it. I also like the new look of the minimized search button. It all just looks much better to me vs. the previous way, and it's only on the homescreen. I know a lot of the look can be mimicked on Nova launcher, but it's not the same, I've already tried it.

I only wish they would fix the weather widget to work more consistently.

I actually like the persistent search bar since I use it often. It's a larger touch target than app icons which I prefer.

Yeah, a lot of people liked it, and I can understand why, but it wasn't for me. I'm more of a visual person when it comes to these phones, especially Android which is so customizable. I like to have more space for my widgets on my homes-screens. To me it was just as easy to just swipe right to the Google now page.

Ok, I changed my mind and I'm back on Nova launcher lol! I forgot how much you could customize it. I have it configured with the stuff I like from the Pixel launcher but with better (IMO) margin spacing. I was drinking the Google cool laid too much, Nova or any launcher you like is always better.

I want to use Nova so bad but I need for it to support the new app shortcuts. I need that!! They are so awesome. For that reason I'm being stubborn and not switching from stock (for now).

Loving the stock Pixel Launcher I won't ever switch back to Nova. Although other launchers are great as well, I'm really enjoying this new look especially with the new dock where I can have an extra icon and just swipe up to bring up the app drawer.
