Anyone else buy a Galaxy tab Wi-Fi today?

Just ordered mine today from Tiger Direct. This is exactly what I've been wanting since I'll mainly be using it at home or at work where I have wifi available and when I'm out and about I can tether it to my Pre. Win-win. Plus this is my first venture into Android.

So, for the first time, I'm actually considering a tablet. I haven't been following the Galaxy Tab toooo closely, but it seems like one of the better choices. But is this a newer model than what was released last year? Their new offerings (10" and...8"?) shown at CES looked awesome...but this is something else, right? I'm confused :-\

this is the 7" version that was released earlier but only in the 3G version available with a 2yr data contract. since I'm gonna be mostly using it to browse online, answer emails, and view Facebook and Twitter at home while watching TV the wifi Tab suits me just perfectly.

@verno, thanks for the clarification. That's what I was thinking but I guess I missed the fact that a wifi only model hadn't been available until now.

I'm in the same boat -- just looking to use it while lounging on the couch. Funny how these smartphone screens feel "small" now that the tabletspace is heating up.

Getting mine today

Mine should be arriving from Amazon today. I've been waiting to get a tablet computer since before the iPad was announced. I'm not kidding I used to scope out UMPCs but everything was so ****ty. Now that the WiFi only Tab is available at a good price I'll finally satisfy my tablet needs. I'm way too excited about this.

Does anyone know if the wifi Tab supports a bluetooth keyboard? The Sprint and VZW Tabs don't and I am curious if the wifi Tab is more like the Sprint and VZW ones in the regard or not.

After the most recent VZW GT update (last week), it now supports BT HID profiles, thankfully.

I'd wager that the wi-fi Tab is more "like" the GSM versions since it has the full 16GB of internal storage onboard...but keep in mind it has a slightly different CPU, GPU, BT chipset and firmware.
