Anyone else considering returning their EVO 3D?

Hell No!!! I don't know if I'm just too easy or what but no issues here with this phone. This bad boy is a keeper. Sorry others are having issues. My EVO 4G had very little wrong either. Guess I'm just lucky!

nope...my battery is better than expected with everything I have going on...constantly syncing, live wall paper, everything turned on, constantly texting or checking facebook, net...few call throughout the day...

I am going to be stuck with this phone atleast until my next upgrade...

Hmm must have some kind of issue, I have the same usage as the OP but a little less phone calls and a lot more texts and my phone is at 32% after being off the charger 39 hours. Wifi is always on, screen is at the HTC widget's lowest setting.

Not good - Battery died after 12 hours off the charger. Lost signal in an area I've never lost signal in the past 6 years.

Hey man, sorry to hear that you're not enjoying your device. I am very pleased with mine, but to be honest, my battery life is worse than yours. Mine goes about 6 hours off the charger, but I have auto brightness and all syncing on and moderate to heavy use.

If you do return it, at least you tried it; so no one can fault you. This definitely isn't everyone's thing. I am fortunate because I get to charge my phone while I am at work, so battery life isn't TOO much.. but I know it will be a problem if I decide to go to San Francisco for a day and won't have a charger at hand. To remedy this, I plan to buy an extra battery to swap for these situations. Probably run juicedefender too.

I really love Sense UI too.

That said, I've read most reviews and the Evo 3D is fairly along the same battery life as most other 4.3 inch displays with other Android devices.

I definitely enjoy it when it doesn't drop a call and I have enough power. That being said it just doesn't seem like a phone that is 3 plus years newer than my old phone has any better battery life - in fact it is worse. For people who try to excuse it because it has a more powerful processor - then shouldn't laptops get about 2 minutes of battery life - since they've improved every year and they still have better battery life than those made 20 years ago.

I do think this phone does a lot of things well and I'm much more of a fan of Android when I tested it a couple of years ago.

I still haven't decided 100% what I'm going to do however engadget did say they got much much better battery life on the Galaxy SII and my guess that is because of the super amoled plus screen. Considering the battery goes down nearly 1% for each minute I have the screen active, my guess is that the LCD tech HTC was promising isn't as efficient as HTC originally thought it would be.

Only problems I've been having are sometimes, over the last few days, the weather/clock widget will say "no weather available" even though I don't see why not. I'll click on it, and it'll load, then go back to the home screen and it'll display properly. Maybe there's a weird setting.

Also, and more annoying, I seem to have times where my internet/data will completely stall. I'll either have to turn off wi-fi, then turn it back on, or go into airplane mode for a couple minutes then come back, or do a restart. No loading of webpages, FB will hang, Tweetdeck will hang....it's pretty lame. Not sure what's happening there.

Other than that, I love it. I have some dust under the screen already, including a black speck. That's driving me nuts but I'm not sure it's worth trading it in and getting a unit with potentially more issues.

I use this phone more than I ever used any other phone. I have to admit the battery on this phone lasts me through out the day. I leave 4g off when I am not doing anything data intensive.

39 hours without charging? Are you using Earth hours?

Surprisingly yes, not sure what I did different usually I can get a good 15 hours out of it. I've got pretty solid service where I'm at, may have something to do with it. Just had to recharge it last night I'll have to see if I can do it again.

After having my phone for about 5 days and coming from a Palm Pre- I must say that I really enjoy this phone!

Battery life is still bad! But the fact of life it is for any smartphone now a days has this phone. Its still better than my Pre- so I can not cojmplain to much!

I love the screen and the CPU is just amazing! Hope to get into some games soon. (Other than Angry Birds!)

SO over all I love it so far!

Now that the Nexus S 4G is only $99 I am definitely considering it.

cgardner,I don't mean to go OT but how is your Sprint signal in the Burlington,VT area? I don't think WiMax is anywhere in VT but how good is your 3G? Since signal strength seems to make a big difference in battery life. Does the EVO 3G have an On/Off setting for WiMax? Thanks

The EVO 3D and 4G have the ability to turn off wifi. I was out in Burlington last summer and cell and data were fine. I can't say how 4G coverage is in that area. Go a little further south and I had to roam to verizon near the lake.

Yes their is a button to turn the 4G off. You can also control the 3G from a widget.

In Burlington 3G seems pretty fast! Signal is ok. I do live in the middle of no where outside Burlington. So I use an Airave at home. BUT in Burlington/Essex Jct (Where I work) it seems to hold up great! Everything loads fast! I will be testing 4G for the first time in Boston! I will be going up in a week from today. Feel free to PM me if you got more questions about the VT area or just post em' here!

Thanks cgardner, Coverage maps are always a crapshoot so it helps to get real-life performance reports. Hopefully you'll have good luck with WiMax in Boston.

im deffiently considering returning my 3D..I had it for about 3 weeks so far...dont like the signal issue..never had this issue with the Evo 4G...hopefully will be fixed with update...I hate the power button, feels real cheap and way to sensative compared to the E4G, hate where the usb, charger port is,thats an issue for me because i cant charge and play music with my mini speaker case i use for work..im also not a fan of the dedicated camera button and toggle switch, i think it looks ugly ..Theres deffiently a few other thing but probably software issues that can be fixed but i m kind of upset because im a huge Evo fanatic fan and thought the phone could've been a little more better built...but It deffiently has very good hardware inside...no doubt bout that..

Nope.... Just you. I love the phone. No regrets.
The battery lasts really long to me and charges super fast. I am coming from an epic 4G that took really long to charge. This is by far the best phone I have ever owned.
