Anyone else decided in advance NOT getting the Note 8?

I most certainly won't pre-order. I'll wait for it to go on sale for Black Friday or something like that and get it. I own my pixel XL outright so I'm in no hurry.

Same here. Might look at it black Friday but there are no huge improvements over the s8+ that I am seeing. Not for 4 - 500 extra dollars.

If those crazy huge display curves are real and Samsung is treating that curved surface as part of display dimensions (they do with their other devices), more the reason I'm glad I got the 8+. Less curve, more battery and lower cost.

I thought the latest rumors were less curves with the Note8? Anyways, I highly doubt it will have more curves.

I will wait and see for a month and then decide. However not happy with 18.5:9 screen. They say it is easier to hold with one hand.

I have yet to see anyone use a note device with Spen writing one handed. The core of the note series is the Spen.

Please use 16:9.

I was referring to the apparent leak today that apparently shows the front.
The one for the Exynos? That's not even a real phone. I suppose none of the leaks are real because they are only renders so far. So, I guess everyone is free to choose the one they like best.

It's obviously way too late now, I'm sure it's a done deal, but I totally agree!

S8, Galaxy Book 12, Frontier watch. I'm tapped out.

Same here. S8 Plus and just bought the Gear s3.

I mean yea I got the money for the Note 8 but I've spent way too much the last 16 months on phones and cases.

If the Note 8 is totally over the top and not over $900 I might bite if Samsung.com runs specials on it like they have with the S8 after just a couple months or if Best Buy has a sale on the unlocked Note 8.

I got the s8 Plus so I'm in no hurry. If the Note 8 isnt much different than the s8 or cost way over the top I might just buy the Tab s3 when they run a sale on it. Every 2 or 3 weeks Samsung or Best Buy has it on sale for $500. Maybe it will even go down to $450

I'll get my Spen that way then.

I don't believe you :P.

You don't use your phone with the pen as much as without. That's why!

If the recent cover is legit, it seems to have a sharp edge on the sides.

I must confess I am absolutely gobsmacked and bewildered at the atrocious placement of the FPS. I can understand in the case of the S8-embedded scanner not feasible, last minute commercial decision, no real user feedback about the placement.

But after the S8, Samsung could not have possibly missed the near universal hatred of the location of the FPS. And they do it again.

Who the hell authorised this stupidity? After the S8, surely someone should have had some brains and instituted a rear FPS like the other OEMs. As I say, excusable once in the S8. But after MASSIVE user feedback, not excusable for the Note 8. So yeah, a deal breaker for me. Again.

If they did it like my LG V20 then it be fine with me. I can handle the s8+ but rather it be at least below the camera but not a deal breaker for me. But understand that it might be for you tho. We will find out for sure soon:*)

The problem is they are stuck with this design now. If the Note is built from the design of the S8, and there is no placement under the display as originally planned, the sensor must go in the same place due to the internals on the back of the phone.

Sorry it's a deal breaker for you. Most of us have adapted and are used to the placement.

Don't get me wrong, if my S5 crapped itself tomorrow I'd get the Note 8 no problem and get used to the rear FPS, as you say. But whilst my S5 is still going well, I'd rather get a Galaxy phone with a front FPS that I prefer.

It's not just that though. As I posted before, I'm likely to now wait for the Note 9 to give Samsung time for Bixby to be fully up and running. Plus hopefully a little less conservative and have at the very least the same battery capacity as the larger S Galaxy, presuming S9 plus.

I can handle 1 feature not to my liking. But a rear scanner plus smaller battery capacity than the S8 plus and Bixby not yet sorted. Nah. I'd rather wait whilst my trusty S5 plods along.

Damn you Samsung! Why'd you have to make the S5 so reliable?

And the other thing. Have you seen the latest renders? Apparently the top bezel now won't be as slim as the S8. This is really odd.
