Anyone else feeling like they'll be trading in their TB in 4-5 months?

I've been using a Storm1 and I'm beginning to hate it as much as I originally loved it. This morn I got mostly white screens on the internet and it was slower than slow can be to load a page. The fact that I first waited, wished and hoped that the Torch would come to VZW and then waited for *any* new BB to come out and got sick of the wait, I migrated to Android and I'm still waiting to buy the Thunderbolt. After all my waiting, I seriously doubt I'll give up a Thunderbolt once I FINALLY have one. Besides, since it's a 2yr contract and I don't have the $ to buy phones at retail pricing I have no doubt I will *not* be swapping mine out a few months down the road.

Honestly, though, the Bolt will be fine unless you are planning on being a hardcore gamer. By this time next year they'll have the next gen LTE radios (more efficient) and dual/quad-core Snapdragons/Tegra that will also be optimized and more efficient.

If you want bleeding edge, get the Bionic. However, I have a feeling those people won't have a better phone experience this year over the Bolt.

I'm more so curious about the Revolution. bmx keeps saying to keep an eye on this phone, and it seems that this thing has a lot going for it (VoLTE, Netflix, etc.).

I found out yesterday that the Bionic and Atrix have screens with the Pentile Matrix. I HATE that, and it drives me crazy on my DINC. For that reason alone I will never buy either of those phones, especially after seeing the iphone 4's screen.

Unfortunately, I have a horrible knack for needing to have the latest and greatest, even though I tell people all the time that it's not really necessary. It probably explains as to why at one point I had like 3 different phones sitting around my house. =\

More than likely we won't see the next-gen LTE phone on HTC until a year from now anyway. The four LTE phones were announced for this year already so you might as well wait the full year.

That's what I was thinking too, and reason why I'm not worried at all about buying this phone. I can't wait for next Thursday :)

@Chris, I'm the same way LOL I have 3 phones sitting on my desk (backups)

I thought Verizon said they were going to have half a dozen LTE phones this year? Or does that include LTE data sticks?

It depends on if they said phones or devices. I remember them specifically saying devices one time, I don't remember if that was in correlation to the number 6 or the half dozen reference or not.

I like keeping my phone for two years, until the bitter end. Lol.

This way, I'll save some $ because I'm not dropping more on a one year contract EVERY year.

Secondly, when you upgrade after a year, it's a BIG improvement over your current phone! Always a pleasure.

I hate small, incremental upgrades.

Times are changing SO much right now in the mobile sector. The change in smartphone performance over the course of 1 year now, is what used to take 1st / 2nd gen smartphones 2 years. Despite all this, the TBolt will still be a great phone to own for a year (or more). :)

I'm paying full retail for mine then when I have my upgrade in November if anything awesome comes out I'll probably get a new phone.

You need to remember that on a phone the software is as important as the hardware. And as of right now HTC has far and away the best implementation of Android. For example, they bake in full Exchange and ActiveSync. Also, HTC is good with updates.

I am on a Droid X right now, and have just about had it with Moto's subpar Android implementation. And I am not speaking about the Blur widgets - I mean basic things like Push working correctly across all accounts.

I hope I can play Angry Birds, Solitaire and Texas hold them faster with this phone than any other.

lol

Honestly, I'm more concerned with email, calendar, contacts and web browsing than if it can game. Other things like Video Skype, FFC and hot spot are important to me.

I look at this more as a business tool than a toy. If I wanted a toy, I would get an ...i...oh, never mind. :)

This is the number one reason I want to try this phone.
I tried a D1, D2 and DX. Their baked in Exchange/Active Sync just wasn't great...

I've read HTC handles it better.

I am using my BB pre-order as place holder for the HTC Saga or HTC Incredible 2 if they turn out to be not for me. Verizon/HTC would seal the deal for if they had these phones with lte and dual core processors.(Please no rant about dual-core)

By the way I hate the idea that the word flagships are being tossed around by manufacturer as it seems the definition to me is skewed.

For Example
A.) flagship has dual-core processor but no gingerbread or 4g*cough lg and sony*
B.) flagship phone has infamous 1gz processors and extra exclusive gingerbread.

My definition all the above!
(note all this is subject to change just don't agree with marketing with mobile companies as of late especially the thunderbolt)

What does the Bolt use and why is PM bad?

Totally true. Even my lil' old HTC Eris had flawless Exchange / A.Sync software from day 1.

This is because HTC licensed the actual ActiveSync and native Exchange protocols from MS and wired them into the OS.

In addition, Sense works very smoothly as a UI and it's built in widgets again just work, and work well. And the new Sense pushes all this stuff further.
