Anyone else hate the Curved Screen ?

I absolutely HATE HATE HATE the curved infinity screens! They can keep em! There is nothing I love more than a great big fat HUGE flat screen! I currently have a crap phone (ZTE Max Pro) something like that ... But the screen size is nice and big and flat as can be ! LOVE IT!

Why I also have the Note. Not really. Prefer. Buy what you like. And with a case it is less noticeable.

Even the notched iPhone after awhile i block it out and don't let it be a distraction.

I've never used a cover. Tried, prefer without.

I honestly like it, I didn't on the s7 edge them so much bjt I feel it's just right on the s8\9+
The edge was way overdone on the s7 edge. That curve had to be longer than a quarter of an inch! Actually the note 7 is probably where they started getting it down, then perfected on the s8's and s9's.

The curved screen is a farce. People keep lapping it up though. It's awful for usability and practicality.

I prefer flat screen myself. If the note came in a flat screen I'd definitely get that. Same with the S line. But I get along fine with the note 9 as I did with my S9 plus I had. But id take a flat screen model of those two any day of the week for sure.

I prefer a flat screen. I'm hoping this curved screen trend with them fades. I'm sure they can make a beautiful screen without the curves.

The Edge on the S6 Edge was worse than the S7 Edge.

I hate the curved screen, its bloody near impossible to type on. I hate hate **hate** this phone...don't care what the samsung fanboy crowd says about it. The S9 plus was my first samsung phone - it will also be my last. I don't think I'm even going to make it to the end of my contract before I take a hammer to this annoying piece of garbage.

Why I gave a Note 9 for times when S9+ won't do. Gate is too strong. I think it's a trade-off? Thinking the S10 are less curved tiny bit.

But I highly prefer Samsung to others.

Post some pics and I'll believe you.
You are aware you can desensitize the curved part of the screen and fit your keyboard there?
I don't care much for the curve either, so I ignore it.
P. S. Great 1st post

same here, I despise them. The next Galaxy S10e will have a flat screen but I don't want gimped features so I will have to get the S10 (not e) as I do want those 3 cameras. Such a shame.

The only thing the 10e loses is an in display FPS and a telephoto lens. Seems like the best deal of the 3 models to be honest.

seems a bit pointless buying a curved-screen phone and then complain about it on forums

I bought it because it seemed everyone was giving it great reviews at the time. Wish I'd done more research instead of trusting youtube samsung shills and fanboys. Didn't even really think about the curved screen before I bought it actually...it certainly wasn't a "selling point" or feature I cared about. I was more interested in performance and picture quality. It performs well enough for the most part (when it isnt dropping calls, that is), but going in I didn't realize how bad this device would be for typing, and how irritating tge samsung software was going to be (bixby anyone?) And the camera, while better than my old blackberry, isn't that great.

I've had it a year. I've hated it for 50 weeks. Never again.

Wow I hate to hear your having such a bad time with your phone . Was it not possible to play with one in the store before hand ?

I personally don't care for the curve screen but it's the screen protector falling off that I don't like .
See after the original coating wears off and the finger prints start getting bad I put on a tempered glass one with the coating and don't have to worry about finger prints for another couple months .
But with this phone that's not really an option .
Obviously I'm really anal about finger prints .
I've never been able to get conformation about the dome glass having any kinda coating to reduce finger prints or I would gladly try one .

I wouldn't mind it so much, but like chevy man said, it's a pain to keep a screen protector on it. Insurance is a rip off on these phones, so I like to keep mine protected. I've been through several screen protectors in a few months, but think I may have found one that finally works.

I *LOATHE* the curved screen. I will never buy another Samsung phone as a result. I thought I would get used to it but I still curse every time I miss-tap something because the thing I tapped is on the curve. I found this thread by searching for "phones for people who hate curved screens". :) I may get a Pixel 3 XL next. It too is curved, but the curve is sharper - closer to the edge - thus not rendering as much real estate useless. I also hate the new taller form factor, but sadly every phablet has gone in that direction.

Yeah, after using it for a few more months, the word LOATHE is coming to mind. I will go a different route for my next phone if Samsung continues to force the curve on us.
