Sometimes when I have my headphones plugged in, the music will stop going through the headphones and will play through the phone speaker for a split second, then stop - like its supposed to if you pull out the headphones. Problem is, my headphones are still plugged in! Anyone experiencing any problems with their headphone jack?

I don't use the headphone jack, I use BT headphones, but I have never had that problem.

I have had that problem, and it pisses me off just like the 3 OG Droids I went through before I gave up trying to replace.

Nope I don't have that problem. I recently made a playlist to workout to at the gym. Didn't notice that at all. I'm guessing you're streaming from Google Music right?? What kind of headphones are you using??

i noticed the same problem today. it's extremely annoying. everything was fine a few days ago. now it's doing it when i stream pandora and sirius/xm.

I haven't experienced the problem until I went to the gym the other day. I wasn't streaming from Google, I was listening to music on Pandora. I'm using the headphones that the person I bought my GNex from, they're the PureGear Pure Beats ones. It also happens in my car when I plug it into the auxiliary jack...

Yeah it's really annoying. I tried playing music from Pandora without the headphones, and it would play without stopping, then when I plugged my headphones it, it would just randomly act as if I pulled the headphones out. Super annoying when I'm trying to workout and I'm getting into it and then all of a sudden my music stops...

It doesn't seem to be connected to notifications, it happened to me without any notifications coming in for quite a while

I had this problem with my OG Droid all the time, drove me crazy. Then had the same problem with the Droid 3 I had for a little time. I noticed it's more the cable that I was using causing this to happen.

When I bought the Galaxy Nexus I switched the type of cable and never have the problem anymore. I'll have to look at my Amazon account to give you guys a link for this cable. Another thing, I hate to admit it, but my buddies iPhone cables actually work the best, they create a very snug connection.

I use headphone almost everyday and have never had an issue and I have 3 different pairs too, if it's happening to your headphones and car jack it has to be a phone issue.

i would guess the act of pushing the jack in is transiently shorting the connection between, for example, the tip and ring, and mimicking a button push. if you can disable headphone control buttons somewhere (ie, disable the ability to respond to buttons present on some headphones for play, pause, etc), that would be worth a try to see if it fixes the problem.

Hmmm good point, I'll try to find something to disable headphone control.
